We only go in the jet tub in the room and only after I have thoroughly cleaned and sanitized it myself.

I warn my kids not to go in the tubs and find myself monitoring them constantly when the other kids are using the Hot tub.

Can't be too careful today!!!

I haven't read all of the comments but I worked in a pediatric setting for 20+ years. It is very dangerous for children to be hanging out in hot tubs because children cannot regulate their body temperatures like adults can.

I'm all for at least one adults only hot tub because I personally don't like to sit in a hot tub with kids jumping in and out, splashing, and swimming around in it. If they want to play or swim they should be in a pool or a sandbox

Its mostly annoying because 90% of the children I have seen using the hot tub are completely unattended and there is no parent there to keep an eye on what they are doing.

Children who are attended are usually a little better behaved.

At a minimum they need to make sure that children who are using it are attended to and maybe have stronger signage about the dangers for children. Although those that abuse it to begin with probably ignore it or not read.

Me too. I don't know where I've been, but I thought they already were off-limits to children. Obviously we've never taken our daughters in one, nor, based on the premise of this conversation, do I have any desire to now. I don't really want to get in one myself anymore.

This is the picture I sent to MS. I had a better one showing both levels and more kids, but I can't seem to find it on my computer. I had an issue with losing a bunch of my Hawaii pictures, and it must have been among the lost ones.

Well, I can't say that that's an overabundance of children, or adults for that matter, in total, but I still stand by having a section of the resort that's for adults only.

They do it on the ships, and for an "all inclusive" type of resort that this sort of is, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. As long as there are plenty of places that are for everyone, it shouldn't hurt their business.

Although the baby in their would bother me, only because of poopy diapers. Ewww. I mean, kids in diapers aren't allowed in the cruise ship pools either (supposed to be at least). I saw plenty of kids in swim diapers though, and they were never asked to get out of the pools while on our cruise.

And 3 times, yes 3 times, in one day we were asked to get out of the pool so they could sanitize and clean it. Which means some kid pooped in the pool or their swim diaper. 4 times total while on the ship, for a 1 week cruise.

Ok excuse my hot tub ignorance, but why is a hot tub more of a cesspool of germs than the regular pool?

Temperature. The warm temperature increases growth of the nasty stuff. And it is more concentrated (smaller size).

Ew!!! Ok thanks for the info. And now that I am officially super grossed out, that's the end of hot tubbing for me!

Just as a thought, I can see why you wouldn't want kids in there germ-wise, but there's a lot of nasty adults. I've seen sores, band-aids, icky toe fungus. I think I'd take kids over adults. Oh gosh I've got to stop or I'm going to puke.

Would it help if I said this was taken about 9:00 AM? It got a lot busier.
