I need the lowest price for a flight to Barcelona

I've booked the Disney Magic for May of 2014 to Barcelona (transatlantic). So I need a good price for a flight back home. Anyone flew back to the US from Barcelona? Thanks,

Wink Barcelona Flight

Hi there,

Try Kayak.com or other bargain site's, you may want to search the old 2010 and 2011 threads for both the EBTA and WBTA's some managed to find good deals via Delta and American. The airport at Barcelona is an easy taxi away, however you might not want to get a flight before 11am as it can be a challenge gettin off and going through customs then checking in again and more security and customs.

See you onboard.

I think you have left this a little late (Sorry!)

A quick check shows $1,500 to Charlotte (just picked that since you don't give us a return to airport) And that's with two stops, and leaving at 10:45 on the day the ship docks. Not ideal.

A couple of things might help

1. Where do you want to go when you leave Barcelona?

2. How expereinced are you? Are you willing to do the "European Discount carrier" to get to an airport with a cheaper flight back to the US. There are some DEFINITE downsides to this (A) these airlines were the "model' for Spirit. STRICT baggage limits, etc... (B) you often fly into the "little used airport" outside of the city and have to get yourself and your luggage from that airport to the final airport. You will need LOTS AND LOTS of time for this (I like overnight LOL!)

Now... there is this option.

Buy a round trip ticket. I found a Delta leaving Barcelona on 6/1/13 and returning to Barcelona on 6/19 for $920. There's a risk. Technically you are "violating" the terms and conditions on the ticket and i expect at any moment someone will show up to post all the HORRID things that could happen to you. In theory they COULD charge you the one way fare if they bother to catch in. In reality... if you do this once then IMHO they won't bother. They only chase down repeat offenders. (And even then... it has to be pretty abusive which this isn't IMHO)

When I went on EBTA in May 2011, the cheapest air I could get was through DCL. It was $980 .( Detroit to MCO and Barcelona to Detroit)

Yes, I wass at the mercy of Disney. But, my flights were fine.

Try looking at flights with Air Berlin. They typically sell one way flights to or from Europe at half the price of their RT. For a random date, it was about $860 from BCN to JFK, but you would need to overnight in DUS. -- Suzanne

You won't be able to book a May 2014 flight until 11 months prior though-

Good Luck! We cancelled our 2013 Med cruise on DCL for the high airfare rates.

After using Kayak, I checked on flying to different airports in Europe, and then fly back from Europe to Washington, DC. The best deal I found was to fly from Barcelona to Brussels, Belgium. And then take a flight from Brussels to Washington, DC. After showing the wife all of the deals I found (European destinations), she said she would like to go to London. I found a flight to London from Barcelona, then we could stay a couple of nights in London, and then fly to Washington, DC. I found both of these flights (one way, of course), for a total of $560 per person.

One thing I discovered is that if you are willing to travel multiple airports both going and returning the price does drop BUT we do not want to travel more than 24 hours each way for a 6 hour flight direct. The only advice I can offer is to keep checking prices every day about 9 months out and jump on a price that "sounds" good. It is like buying a car to me. Usually when you get it home you sometimes feel you should have paid less to purchase.
