That's How You Get A Prince!

The monorail oh so lovingly dropped us off at the Grand Floridian and we slowly walked into the gorgeousness that is that resort! I don’t know what it is, but it’s so regal, and pretty, I love it so much! Paige made the comment that she felt like we actually fit in today, in our Dapper Day wear, compared to the last trip when we were frumped up in our travel clothes on the way home! LAWL!

I checked us in for dinner, which was 1900 Park Faire for tonight, and was given a buzzer so we had a bit of time to explore and take pictures around the lobby!

The band was playing while we were waiting in the lobby, and I took the time to take some video of it! I still had intentions of making a trip video at this point, or at least trying, so I’ve got more videos of things, haha!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtXfLo0cUy8

We were pretty excited about being at such a dapper place on a special dapper day!

In total we were waiting for around five minutes, which made me super happy, I know sometimes the wait for 1900 can be a pain in the butt for dinner, but our reservation was near the end of the night so I guess we lucked out! The cast member took us in and sat us a little table for two right beside one of the merry go round horses, which was when Paige and I looked at each other and were all “we sat exactly here last time!” WEIRD! We sat and were asked if we had been there before, which of course we had, so the CM took off and left us to start checking things out. I noticed that the Fairy Godmother was out roving around, and there were a couple of characters missing, mainly, the Stepsisters. We thought maybe they were off for a break, as Charming had just also disappeared into the back, who knew?! Since it was break time for the royals, we figured, what better time for us but TIME FOR DISNEY NOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMSSSS!!!

Words cannot express how excited I was for some Disney food.

Paige’s plate: starting at the bottom center and going clockwise; she’s got some chicken marsala and rice thing, mashed potatoes, watermelon, pasta salad, I see some meat hiding under there, spinach salad and some veggies.

My plate: starting at the top and going clockwise; we’ve got some spinach salad, and some edamame salad, some beef/potato stew type stuff, chicken marsala, watermelon and tomato salad, mashed rice, ham with horseradish, and of course, some mashed potatoes right on top.

Seriously, Disney buffets people, I can’t control myself, there’s SO MUCH FOOD! I usually end up with a huge plate of everything like the one above, and then eat like, a quarter of it. Lol.

The potatoes were super buttery and creamy and just absolutely delicious, along with the chicken marsala thing, it was SUPER DELICIOUS! The rice was a winner, as was all the various types of salads that we had between the two of us. The only thing that wasn’t a winner was the ham, it was spiced nicely, but was a little dry. I mentioned applesauce would be nice, Paige that she had seen some, but it was just some other variant of horseradish up there. I’m now thinking there might have been some around the kid section…derp. I was super super happy that everything food wise worked out this time around. I did 1900 for breakfast and dinner in the past, and it was amazing, then last trip with Paige we did breakfast and it sucked, so I was hesitant about going back tonight, but so far we were off to a great start!

While we were eating, the characters started to come back out! Yay! Prince Charming was the first, and he came out super “Hello everyone, pay attention to me, yes, fantastic” like, and actually said “Ah yes, you can applaud, thank you, thank you” and it was just super awesome! I was really happy to see a Prince with some actual attitude, baha! A little bit after, Cinderella came out, and I was REALLY excited to see that Cinderella actually has a really good friend that I follow on tumblr! EEK! I also talked to Paige a bit for just the past week a picture was posted while she was hanging out with Snow, and people on tumblr just attacked it saying “they should really put some make up on her neck/chest, her face looks so photoshopped, this looks so bad, she’s not pretty” and on and on kinda thing. People don’t think before they speak sometimes, and forget that these friends of characters likely have tumblr, or will at least see what you’re saying about them! They’re real people too, and have feelings, and it really just sucks the amount of hate that people get on social networking sites. Ugh. A bit after she came out into the room, some regal music came on and Cinderella and her Prince took the time to dance together!

A very dapper event, and I’ll admit, it’s a lot more fitting than having the little parade walk around thing they do at other character meals, I accept. The couple also takes some time to dance with the kids in the area, which is super adorable!

Because of where we were sitting, we would end up being one of the last tables for the characters to visit, but it was nice to really have the time to get all the food we could eat, and actually have time to eat it! I also took a quick run out to the bathroom before anyone came around, and please, if you ever eat here, remember to take a bathroom trip, they’re so pretty! I know, I know, bathrooms, who knew!? But…seriously…I grabbed a little mini plate of desserts, a mini carrot cake, and some gummi bears! Paige and I were doing our best to eat relatively healthy on this trip, so I don’t think she ended up going up but had some gummi’s off my plate.

THEN, it was time for some characters!

Charming was pretty quick, but was pretty charming. He asked where we were from, and we replied Canada to which he said “I may have conquered that kingdom before!” Yay, a fan of Canada, haha! We took some pictures and he was off to the next table. We had a bit of a wait for Cindy after this, (and I was fangirling pretty hard, she was absolutely gorgeous, as Paige said “unfairly beautiful, lol” I don’t think I’ve ever been that excited for Cinderella). During that time the photopass cast member with all the pictures was coming around, but since we didn’t actually take the picture, he stopped to just chat with us. His name was Aaron, he asked why we were so smiley, and we said that it was cause we were in Disney of course! It was our first night and we were excited! He asked what our plans were for the next day and when we told him DHS he asked if we were excited for Rock n Rollercoaster, and we had to explain that we hadn’t actually been on it, but might be attempting it tomorrow and he told us that it was an awesome ride.

He then said goodbye and moved on to the next table with their picture while we continued to laugh and smile at pretty much everything, one of those moments where just everything is amazing and awesome and you cant’ stop laughing even though nothing’s funny...well…it may have been the Disney magic, but I’m also it was the FOOD! This was the moment that I turned to Paige and went “Pretty sure I’m food drunk right now…” and thus it became a thing of the trip…

Pretty sure I am food drunk right now! #disneyfood #19000parkfaire

Lady Tremaine came around to hang out with us for a bit next, and she was seriously hilariously amazing!! She came right up to us and started chatting, saying that we both looked very dapper that evening, and asking us if we “wanted the gossip?!” Well of course we did, so she told us that “Charming’s been looking for a new jousting partner, but you didn’t hear it from me!” Well of course not! She asked if we were sisters, and we told her we were best friends, and she liked that. My level of food drunk at this point made me tangle up my words a little bit, and she said “there’s mystery about this one. Look, she even has numbers on her hand, what’s that all about?” I told her it was our room number so we wouldn’t forget it when we got home, and she gave us a look, and then moved on her way as she said goodbye. We were both really impressed with her, and loved the fact that she commented on our Dapper Day attire! YAY!

Cinderella came over to us next, and was also a quick chatter with us, but amazing, she asked where we were from and said that it was a long carriage ride, we of course agreed, having gotten down there that day, and then we took pictures!

A completely perfect princess! #cinderella

With only a tiny bit of waiting, our last character of the evening came around, the Fairy Godmother!

She was amazing too! She commented on the lovely jewels that we had on, such lovely ladies too, and told us that more princesses should try looking so dapper as that was the proper way to get a prince! Fairy Godmother was seriously perfect, I’m pretty sure that Paige was about to cry when she walked away (then again…if Paige is crying, it’s a regular day in Disney….same goes for me…we cry…things get emotional…LAWL)

With all our characters done for the meal, we had asked for our bill earlier, and I think at this point I paid visa and Paige just gave me cash as they hadn’t separated the bill and that’s just easier. We had talked about going back to MK for some of the EMH, but were just too tired, full, and food drunk at this point, so back to Pop it was!

Scoring: 4/5
I know, I know, the same score? BUT, this is one of those meals that you kinda book for the characters, and it sucked that the Step Sisters weren’t there, but EVERYTHING else was perfect. Aside from the meat being a little on the dry side, everything was great, quality and quantity. I do also wish the service had been a little on the better side, but that’s okay!

Would we book again? Yes!

Cost: $40.00 approx. We both drank water, but obviously we also tipped. I definitely didn’t keep any receipts, but it was worth the money!

Back at our home resort we stopped in the food court to pick up some stuff to eat for breakfasts the next couple of days, bananas, Greek yogurt, meal bars and Uncrustables for me, and yogurt, apples and Uncrustables for Paige! The gift shop was needed to be looked through, so we did that for nearly an hour before heading back up to the room for some sleep!

A very successful first day in Disney complete with Uncrustables with Paige!

[b]Food of the Day[b]: Chicken Marsala/curry thing, and the mashed potatoes!

Ups of the Day: Arriving, having such an awesome dinner and amazing characters, and being involved in, and getting recognized as it, Dapper Day!

Downs of the Day: No Step Sisters at the dinner!

Ahh love the Dapper Day outfits and that so many CMs commented on them!

The bathrooms in FLE are awesome lol and I love that there's music playing from B&tB in them rotfl. can't wait to see what the ones in Rapunzel's tower look like lol.

Those Sabra hummus containers are a main staple in my diet lol, I didn't know they sold them at Disney! Although paying $4.39 for one might give me a heart attack.

How cool that you got a Dapper monorail car.

No stepsisters at dinner is pretty sad. I like the Fairy Godmother and all but I love love the stepsisters. Your food looks totally yummy though. And Cinderella looks gorgeous so I don't get the criticism!

Also you're right. The bathrooms at the GF are amazing. Maybe more amazing than FLE. Thanks Disney for giving us things to analyze while we pee lmao!

Your dresses and jewelry for Dapper Days were very cute.

I want to be at MK right now! I don't think I want to book another trip without going there first.

I wasn't as in love with the Le Fou's Brew as you guys were. I liked it at first but found it got too sweet towards the end.

Aren't the bathroom's in New Fantasyland awesome? I'm always amazed at how well Disney themes even the smallest details.

1900 Park Faire is one I haven't made it too yet. The food looks delicious though. One of these days I'll make it there.

I had never heard of Dapper Day before. I love learning new things.

Thank goodness they now have the new tickets for AP because I'm seriously thinking about getting one this year.

It's a shame no step sisters at the dinner. I love them so much. They're hysterical.

Your dress is so cute! You and Paige looked like you were having an awesome time! Thanks to your review, I would like to eat at the Grand Floridian the next time!! I would like to try more of the resort restaurants!
We also tried the LeFrou's Brew! Yum! ...my only complaint about Gaston's Tavern both time we went in was that the service was fairly slow. The cast member taking your order also had to fill your order. I hope that they resolve that issue during the busier times!

After more closely examining the pic of that man's behind, I've come to the conclusion that I think you're right....it's a white belt. SIGH!
It soooooo looks like he's got some crack action goin on though!

Hahahah at that one guy in your 2nd UD, in front of the castle. (5th pic down) He's got that face like he's been accidentally caught in one too many castle photos that night. Like "ohmahgawd guys, not again...however I'll reluctantly pose for you anyway" LOLZ. I went too far on this one...moving on!

CASTLE SUITE...MY DREAM! I guess Tom Cruise rented it out for a week for Suri. So that's how you do it! Just get Tom to sign them adoption papers and you're on your way to royalty!

I ALWAYS make a note to check out the bathrooms in every restaurant there! They're like...hidden gems hahah.

EATING HEALTHY IN DISNEY??! Pffft you ladies have some self control!
Skipping dessert?! LOL!

Nope! I'm assuming that one or both was sick? I don't know how it works, or if one's sick, the other just doesn't come in? I'm not sure...

Lol Thanks!!

Waaaaaaakkkeeee uuuupppp

Waaaaaake up!! It is officially your first day at DISNEY WORLD! LET’S GET GOOOOOIIINNNGGG. At least…that’s kinda what Stitch said that morning! Paige and I actually both ended up waking up before the wake up call went off, and were getting ready by 7:40! Yay! I made a run down to the food court to fill up my mug, gotta get that caffine somehow! While I was gone Paige jumped on her Ipad to start making ADR’s for her August trip, but of course, something was wonky with the website and she was having a bit of trouble, urg.

The Disney wake up calls make me so happy!

We both ate in the room, I had a greek yogurt and a meal bar that I had bought in the food court, and we were down to the bus stop by 8:27, right on time! Yay! Today was our Disney’s Hollywood Studios day!! We weren’t Disneybounding today, but we did have some matching Woody and Buzz hair bows!

There was a photopass guy out in front of the little Mickey topiaries out front so we made a short stop there first, I mean, we had managed to not get a single photopass while Dappered up, so we figured we should probably get some now!

Bag check took literally a few seconds, we seemed to have pretty good luck with being able to kinda speed walk our way to the front of any crowds that were there and get through with no trouble, which was a nice bonus! Right through the bag check there were some fun friends out meeting prior to park opening!

Donald and Daisy’s Hollywood garb is too adorable! Stitch was out on the other side of the area and it looked like he was in a mood that morning!

Paige asked if I wanted to stop at all, but I figured they’d be out inside the park as well and if we wanted to we could see them later, so we headed in towards the turnstiles!

DHS appeared to be opening a little early at 8:45 today, which was a little odd to me, as there wasn’t really any reason, and we didn’t encounter any ropes or anything as we went further into the parks. Oh well, it’s not like it threw a wrench into our plans or anything!

With our hair bows being related to some very fun toys, we of course were headed to Pixar place first!

We grabbed some fast passes for Toy Story Mania, and then jumped in the line, I mean, with a wait time of a mere ten minutes, why wouldn’t we?

Ready for some DHS fun! #fastpass #toystory #tsmm

As we were walking through the queue, we took a minute to take some pictures of the bows to share with everyone! I thought it’d be a super cute idea to get Woody and Buzz ones to compliment the “best friends” thing and it actually worked out wonderfully that Paige loves Woody! I had also gotten us some Tinkerbell and Periwinkle ones that we wore the previous day with our dapper day dresses, and some more that you’ll see in the next updates!

*Sigh* this queue never gets old…I wonder how many hidden Mickey’s are in there?! We also noticed that the little viewfinder slide (is that what they’re called, I totally just blanked! I had them as a kid, but totes can’t remember now!) was from Peter Pan! Yay!

Also, side tracked, but I just bought Peter Pan the other day and watched it and really completely fell in love with it all over again! I hadn’t seen it in so long, but it’s really got some awesome characters and the score in it is unbelievable! UGH!

K is for Katt! Yay! Lol. I’m special, I know. Haha. Today I was also on the “take lots of video” kick to start the trip off, so I’ve got some of Mr Potato head talking, which is something you miss if you don’t go through the standby line. I hadn’t seen it til last March, and it’s pretty cool!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD-7dY3LmTQ

Paige and I reached the end of the first half of the line, grabbed our 3D glasses, rounded the corner into part two of the line….and they announced that the ride was down…and would be for the rest of the day…..

You Are a T-O-Y, TOY!

LAWLS! Just Kidding guys, we had no such bad luck today, we breezed right through and were up the stairs before we knew it!

Yay! We were blasting through the ride, breaking plates, popping balloons and hitting the wildest targets in the west in just around 10 minutes, which had been the posted wait time! Bonus!

Paige did a pretty good job keeping up this time, and she definitely beat me in accuracy in some of the rounds, I usually say “screw accuracy” and just fire everything everywhere, I mean, you’ve got unlimited ammo, why not!? Baha! I lucked out with this strategy and got best in vehicle! Awesome!

We were done playing the games at 9:15, and decided to jump right across the street to a new thing for me, the meet and greet with Buzz and Woody! I mean, we had the bows, and it was the only place you could meet them together, and I don’t really care about Jessie, so why not?!

The super cute map that tells you all the things you can take pictures with in the queue while you wait and the best pathways/standing spots for everyone!

I of course, ready and willing to take the opportunity to be a derpy princess, jumped right into the first photo op!

Totally a space ranger, am I right?! Paige had to get in on the fun too!

And then the oh so lovely woman behind us offered to take one of the both of us in there!

Bonus for awesome people at Disney World! We actually ended up talking with them the entire way through the line, and they took the pictures for us too, which was awesome! They were a couple from Chicago and the wife had ran the Princess Half Marathon over the weekend, which we thought was seriously impressive, that’s a lot of running. There were actually quite a few people who we saw out and about that had ran it, so if you’re one of them, good on ya!

The claaaaawwwwwww……

The woman noticed Paige’s tattoo around here (she has a pair of pointe shoes on her shoulder) and she commented that Paige must be a dancer, and that sprung a whole new level of conversation between us. Of course, we both do dance, and have for years so we chatted a lot about that, and how we’d both love to dance for Disney, and how I was trying to get into entertainment somehow at WDW. This of course was a conversation we probably should not have had while in Sid’s room with the crazy but friendly toys, but hey, when in Disney….

When they asked what kind of dance was Paige’s favorite and she said it was musical theatre, we found out they were some big theater buffs and spent pretty much the rest of the wait time talking about various plays and shows, and of course New York. Paige has been there a couple of times, and absolutely loves it, so she held up that conversation a lot more than me, which was okay, I had more time to be a TOY!

If you look closely above the open luggage that I’m trapped in, you can see some of the other toys up there! With our millions of photos behind us, it was time to meet the real toys of the hour, so we said goodbye to our Chicago friends and thanked them again for taking all the pictures!

Derp

Woody and Buzz absolutely loved the bows that we had on, of course! Woody saw Paige’s birthday button and asked her how many years she was celebrating, and overall they were a lot of fun and I’m super glad we had the bows with us to make it more awesome!

As I was putting away the photopass card, camera and autograph book I let out a HUGE gasp, which I’m sure freaked out Paige, but I had simply forgotten to ask Buzz about his Spanish mode, and whether or not they actually had “Andy” written on the bottom of their feet or not! SAD FACE! We decided if we had time we’d go see Buzz again in Magic Kingdom!

You actually had me scared there for a minute by saying that TSM was down for the day! That would be a nightmare for me.

Oh, and they sometimes open HS early. The day I went, they opened the gates at 8:30 am. I got two rides in on TSM before the official opening of the park!

I love all the Buzz and Woody pictures. That line looks like so much fun to stand in. They need to do that for more of the meet and greets.

LOVE your Buzz and Woody bows! So cute!

We were at DHS that day, too. I didn't realize that they ended up opening a bit early? That would explain why our Toy Story FPs ended up being for almost 1 pm when we arrived. Oops!
