Can you walk from Wilderness Lodge to Campgrounds for Backyard BBQ?

We are staying at the Wildnerss Lodge and I'm thinking about trying to book Mickey's Backyard BBQ for our arrival night. But the kids won't stand for a long mess of transportation between the two areas.

Let me know, thanks!

Long mess of transportation = boat.

But yes, there's a jogging path between the two.

OK, so there's a boat. Is the boat a mess? I would think that would be easy. HMMM.

It is easy. There is a boat route that loops between FW, WL, and CR. I forget which order it goes in in the evening, but it will get you there without needing to transfer.

The walking path is nice, but not lit. So depending on the time of year/which seating you have, it may or may not be an option.

We stayed at WL and loved the boats. There is one that goes in a loop between Fort Wilderness, Contemporary and WL. We took the boat to Hoop Dee Doo and it was a very pleasant ride. We also took the boat to cR a few times so we could hop on the monorail to go to ADR's at the Polynesian and GF.

There's also a bus directly from WL to Fort Wilderness Settlement, where both Mickey's BYBQ & HDD are located. It runs about every 15 minutes, and is less than a 5 minute ride. After stopping at the Settlement, the bus continues into the campground, so you can stay on to the Meadow (pool & main trading post) or the Outpost (horseback riding.)

As for the boat, I think a Disney watercraft CM posted that there are 2 boats making the loop in opposite directions, so whether you are going WL to FW or reverse, you can get a boat with no intermediate stops.

Even if the boat has to make an intermediate stop, its still a relaxing ride. 5-8 minutes without a stop, 15 or so with. Very easy.
Upcoming Trips:
April 18 Epcot / MV Magic 19-26 / MK April 26
August 6-11 VWL
