frustrated trying to book hotel !!

been on loads of sites today entered our search requirements 2 adults = 3 children

only to get a list of hotels that do not accommodate us
or gives me a option to book but yet the room description says max occupancy 4 ??
or when i find one that can accommodate us at a good price it then adds on extra when i move to the confirm booking page tax plus rollaway bed charges etc !!

I think most, if not a good proportion of hotels, do charge for roll-away beds

i know just wish they would add it on when giving you the room price thought i had found a decent price for clarion but then when it added the $20 a night plus the tax at the booking page it didnt seem so decent anymore

just lots seem to allow me to proceed to booking even though they say 4 occupancy?? should i just assume we can fit in these rooms and expect to pay for the extra rollaway when we get there

expedia is the worst for showing me the big list of hotels we dont fit in plus 2 or 3 options i can book at the top!! !!!why even show them to me !!

cursing the 3rd child today !!!

I really dislike Expedia for hotels. Even having 1 child is not good for their system, thankfully not used them for a few years due to them being expensive.
I used them for a hotel in Scarborough and another in Amsterdam, both times we were given standard room with double bed, had to ask for an additional bed on arrival. The one in Amsterdam took them til 1am to deliver it.
Their system doesn't seem to register children on the booking, or it didn't.

Yeah basically when making any kind of accommodation/package bookings if you don't have 2 adults, 2 kids (and a dog at the kennels so it doesn't jump the white picket fence) you're screwed!

It wasn't expedia and i think it was a direct booking with a hotel, here in the UK a few years ago and the fact that I was one adult with one child baffled the system. It kept telling me that I was a single adult and charging for single occupancy supplements which worked out more than just eventually solving it by booking DD as an adult. Go figure!!

Are you getting cash back Bex? I prefer online too the phone but it may just be easier to do this over the phone if there is no discount from doing it online

i'm not hugely fussed about cash back as long as i find somewhere in budget absolutely must be under £400!! with all extra bed fees n tax and charges !!

we booked a european package before and paid a fortune in under occupancy as we didn't fit in standard room so had to get a 2 bed thingy that was 6 occupancy but yet that had to be 6 adults so we were charged as if there were only 2 of us in the room !!

since then we have gone away with my sister her dh and 1 child !! and then i just donate one of my children to her room !!

oh wayneg that sounds bad i definately do not want to be chasing any extra beds around on arrival !!

Where are you wanting to stay? Some Disney deluxe rooms sleep five (fold out beds not good for over 10's though), POR also sleeps five in some rooms. There are a lot of one or two bed condos in a sneeze of Disney property too. Two value rooms would give you plenty of space and two bathrooms. The cabins at Fort Wilderness also sleep 5/6. Or you could rent DVC points.

Yes. All the extras do suck some of the value out of off site. What about DTD hotels?

I've just been having a quick look and The Holiday Inn Resort at Lake Buena Vista has kids suites and the Double Tree at DTD has all 2 bedroom suites and a shuttle service. There are photos and fact sheets at allears.net

Can you e mail them? They had photos of a room with two bunk beds in a room which is why I posted about it.

Email them. Then you know. And if they come back and say no extra charge you have it in writing so they can't really do much about it when you get there. Do it now as the time difference has bought you some of their office hours for a little while yet this evening

Have you tried some of the condo type accommodation? I think there are Blue Heron Beach resort and a Sheraton Vistana very close to Disney.

I havent tried either of them as we have stayed at OKW with the free DDP last few trips but they are on the list for when we get priced out of OKW. We have the same 3 children problem!

We used to stay at Bahama Bay resort prior to OKW deal and it was great but a long drive to the parks now after being used to Disney on site.
