It looks like I can pay in euros on DCL so I won't get any extra charge for change on my credit card. On one other hand, Dreanslimited offers a $100 OBC (now I know the word ! ).

I booked Jan 2012 for July 2013: 19 months in advance.

If you want a 2br or Royal suite on the Magic/Wonder during high season, the closer you book to opening day the better.

For instance, I'm looking at summer 2014 med cruises and there are only 1BRs left on everything I have checked from the beginning of June through the end of August. Great.

All of our cruises have been reserved over a year out and like you most of them 18 months out.

When we have the money saved for a Disney Cruise we book when the dates for the new year come out. We have never seen the cost of our cruises go down from what we paid and typically significantly more. We have been on enough cruises now that the wait isn't nearly as painful as our first couple. Thought the date would never arrive.

I like to book my cruise as far in advance as I could to get the best deal possible. I usually have three/four reservations.

I just booked our Fantasy cruise for June 2014 yesterday. Dreams Unlimited gave us a $300 OBC, so I went with them. Sweet!

From about a year out to as little as 5 days out.

Usually, if I find a deal, I book it as long as its prior to the refundable deposit date.

Cases in point:

Booked a 3 day Wonder in October 3 years ago. Flights were super expensive, but the cruise was super cheap for the five of us. Booked in the spring. Was going to cancel if flights didn't come down. Less than a week prior to the cancellation date, Spirit had a great deal on flights and got the five of us to Fort Lauderdale and back for $350 total. Kept the cruise and had a great time.

Booked a 7-day Costa on a Monday for a Saturday sailing (which was Christmas Eve). Flights were expensive, but it was a Christmas present from the in-laws. Rooms were super bargains. $399 per adult, kids sailed free. They were also in their spa suites, which came with spa treatments, special boarding and a semi-private restaurant.

Booked for this Easter a cruise on MSC about 6 months ago. About two weeks prior to the PIF date, found out the Magic had its Kids Sail Free promotion. Cancelled MSC and booked Disney.

I do this with cars and airfare on Southwest all the time. I buy in at a price I am comfortable with, but keep shopping, knowing something better or a deal might come along.

Usually, we book about 6 months out and usually take the best deal. That's why we have 17 cruises with 6 different lines.

Is it better to book state room on port side or on starboard concerning castaway stop and fireworks ? I managed to get 2 holded reservations for staterooms 7120 and 7620 on the Magic. Which do you consider is the best ?

We go to WDW more often than we cruise and have booked a vacation 6 weeks out wth free dining. We also don't do full price cruises. Our 1st was a KSF, 2nd was an IGT rate, and our next one is 20% off.
I guess I should amend this. The furthest out that I've booked is now 7 months and 28 days.

I posted this on your other thread where you asked:

Port side will overlook the dock. Starboard side overlooks the beach.

Fireworks are shot from aft toward midship starboard side. In many cases, DCL request that no one (and nothing) be on the verandahs during the fireworks.

Starboard has the best view for fireworks and Castaway Cay.
