Is it safe....?
Solo trip soon and staying at BC...
How safe is it walking around the lake by yourself at night? Would you do it alone? ( female responses pls....I know men would prob be fine with it!)

I love it...and I also go out running around 5:30 every morning, when it is still dark. Plenty of Disney workers around!

As long as you haven't been drinking around the world excessively to the point of vomiting or falling in the water you should be fine with normal world precautions - watch your surroundings, hold your bag, look up at people, etc.
I think there is more daNGER in the long hallways late at night and someone pulling you into a room than out in a public area for a beautiful walk. |

I've never traveled alone. But we did stay at the Beach Club last August... you're going to LOVE it!!!
I think that in Disney, as anywhere else, you need to just exercise basic common sense. As long as you leave pretty much when everyone else is leaving, you should be fine. So I would be fine walking alone at 9 pm (During the summer anyway; not sure of March hours) but I would be hesitant at 3 am. When the crowd starts to thin, you should probably take that as your cue.

I wouldn't think there would be a problem but you should still be careful and aware of your surroundings.

I have always felt safe but I was never out at some strange hour ( no later than 11pm myself and no earlier than 6am). Just be aware of your surroundings - I find it to be a very peaceful walk around the lake.

Many of my trips to WDW are solo. I have no issues or problems at all.

Depends on how late you are talking about. I would not want to go, after parks are closed, boats have stopped running and everyone is in for the night.

YES!!! I travel to Disney alone and have stayed at the Dolphin before. I even went to walk around the Boardwalk at about 2 am and guess what, they have security!!! The security guard kindly let me know that the boardwalk was closed and he made sure I got back to my hotel safely. I felt silly about going out and finding it was closed but then I realized that I'd rather feel silly than be harmed.
So when the crowds are out, it is very safe since there are so many people around and when the crowds aren't out, there are security folks keeping on eye on the place - EVEN IF YOU CAN'T SEE THEM |

I do this too! I am a night owl and, after everyone passes out, I like to go exploring. Never felt unsafe in any way. I have also walked to and from DHS during evening EMH which was fine too.

I just returned from my first solo trip and stayed at the Dolphin. I felt perfectly safe walking around the Boardwalk at night. I was initially supposed to go away with my sons to Fort Lauderdale but when they decided to stay home with my husband I changed my plans. I thought I'd feel safer being in Disney than Fort Lauderdale by myself.

I can honestly say I have always felt safe at WDW.
I have made several solo trips. I just got back on Tues night from a 7 day solo trip. On Sat night AK was open until 8pm. The park was practically deserted after 7pm. I walked around alone without a care in the world, in the dark and loved it! I felt 100% safe. I have no problem walking around Disney crack of dawn early or late at night alone. Disney takes safety and security very seriously. It's one of the only places I feel fine walking around alone all hours of the day and night.
