Historically, they've done just that almost every year.

With only 20% for mods, I am glad I booked my BB to CBR at 30%.
I really wasn't going to do the BB, but 30% is 30%. Going in August and booking my dinning, as we speak.

I just saw an ad on TV (during the Today show) that said for as low as $72/person per day - family of 4, 6 days, 7 nights at an all star resort & theme park ticket package would be around $2008.
The small print says based on 2 adults, 1 junior, 1 child in a standard room for most stays 1/2-2/13, 2/24-3/7, 4/7-5/30, 8/4-11/22 and 11/30-12/12. So it looks like they extended what ever discount they had for the begining of the year for the rest of the year? ET: I just ran a quote for september with the amount of people they listed at an all star resort for the time period they had and it came to just over $1900. So maybe the ad was for rack rates - I just wonder why they had the specific dates listed? Last edited by anonomouse; 03-15-2013 at 07:13 AM. |

Thanks, danny25! I was hoping that there would be something for Sept./Oct. for our friends who are hoping to go with us. But that was really wishful thinking this early in the game. I guess that I'll just have to key my eyes and ears open for a little longer.

Am I understanding right that each resort in each category may have a different % off like CSR might be 25% but POR may be only 20% even though they are both mods? Is it 15% or more for values, 20% or more for mods?

She said it was simply their value season discount. How ridiculous! The value season doesn't extend into December! I find it ridiculous that Disney can put a commercial on television and have their call center have absolutely no information about it. I told her we go every year, so hopefully she would know I have at least some idea what I was talking about. She still tried to tell me it was their normal value season prices. Very frustrating........

Although, I priced out a savannah on the spring offer and it discounted it - just not the dates I needed.

However, Disney has always run these types of commercials for stays "as low as" a certain price. And those commercials have always been for the rack rates. The key is to be aware of what their normal pricing is.

All resorts within a resort level can have a different % off. Even two room types at the same resort can have a different % off. Sometimes a value room will only get a 5% off discount. 15% is usually the highest for values, but as with anything Disney, there are exceptions to the norm.

Thanks Danny for posting this. Based on this and the history of the last two years I think I'm pretty much stuck with what I have. Staying at AoA LM from 8/17-8/23 so I think I'm right smack in the middle of the no discount window and since I'm staying at AoA LM there likely wouldn't be a discount anyways. On the off chance they bump the FD promo back a week from 8/25 then maybe I can talk my wife into moving to Pop or an AoA suite for FD but I'm not banking on it. Good thing we budgeted for the full amount!
