To all you Non-First timers

OK so lets see my DH, DD (7) and I are going on our first cruise in may from PC on the Dream just a short little 3 day to experience it. We live in Louisiana so we were going to drive to the downtown Disney area the day prior and stay at the Wyndham right next store to downtown Disney. So i guess my questions are has anyone else done this i'm worried cause PC is about an hour away is the drive easy (DH wanted to get a few things before the cruise so he wanted to go DTD)? and we have a check-in time for 11:00-11:30 should we get to the port for 10:30? Any Advise about my travel plans or on the boat is much appreciated we are also debarking on Sunday and going to stay in the area Sunday night before heading back so any activities to do around town let us know Thank YOU so much i love this board!!!!!!

We always stay at WDW the night before and drive to the port the morning of our cruise. Easy drive, pretty much straight shot.

Sounds like your plan is sound. The only advice I'd offer is to purchase any groceries or other carry on items close to Disney. Once you get off the loop around Orlando, there are virtually no stores until PC.

You have an arrival time to arrive at the port at 11am. If you arrive after that you will have no issue. You will fill out the reguired medical form and check-in and get your Key to the World (KTTW) Card. After that you will sit and wait until the ship startes to board. Usually around 11:45. What time you arrive has little to do with your boarding number. Your boarding number should be 2, 3, or 4. When they call that number you board.

If you happen to stay late at WDW or hit some traffic, no worries! As long as you are there by about 3:00 you will check-in, get the boarding number 2, 3, or 4 and immediately board the boat. They will have already passed your number by 12:30. You can just walk on the board after check-in after that time.

There is always plenty to eat and drink on board. But some people like to bring snacks or drinks of their own choosing. If you want a Pepsi product or pop tarts for the last morning, etc. You certainly don't have to bring anything if you choose not to.

The water on the ship is pretty good as it is very well filtered I would bring a reusable water bottle. If there is a snack you have to have I would suggest you bring it with you but otherwise there's plenty of food and coke products on this ship. Also as long as you carry it on the ship you can bring alcohol with you and do not consume any alcohol you bring on the ship in public areas . Hoping you and your family have a great first cruise!

There are plenty of choices for lunch. The names of the places are different depending on what ship you are on, but there are walk up places, buffets, and sit down lunches available on all of them. Also free room service.

We did this in Jan. We drove, stayed at All Star Movies, and drove to P.C. the next morning. We got to the port about 9:45, so we went to Walmart. We didn't want anything, but it's kind of a tradition. We were just waisting time, but did buy my son a Disney Tee. We still got back to the port by 10:30, and was on the ship by 11:30.

Others have addressed the food and dining questions you had. We live here in Florida. We always stay at one of the Disney resorts the day or two before our Disney cruise. Then the day of the cruise we drive over to PC for the earliest boarding time possible. We leave WDW around 9:30 to 9:45am. Get back out onto I-4 North and take the SR528 exit. This is a straight shot over to PC. This is a toll road so you will have to stop about 4 or 5 different toll plazas but it is an easy drive over. Takes around 45 to 60 minutes to drive. Have a great cruise!!!
