4 night cruise on Wonder: should skip a regular restaurant for Palo?

Hello!

My mother and I are going on a 4 night cruise on the Wonder in May, and we were wondering that since there won't be any restaurant overlaps on a 4 nighter, if we should skip out on one to go to Palo. I believe my choices are Triton's, AP, Parrot Cay and Beach Blanket Buffet. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Beach blanket buffet is not a rotational dining. So there are only three options so you will have two dinners in one of the 3 restaurants. I would definately book a night at Palo...its the best part in my opinion =)

The Buffet isn't part of the normal rotation, so you'll have one repeated, which will be on Pirate night.

Since you'll be on a 4 night cruise on the Wonder your itinerary has no sea days, correct?

Typically my suggestion would be to not skip the main dining rooms and to do brunch but as that is not available for you you'll have to decide if you want to skip on your first cruise.

Your rotation will consist of one night each in AP, Triton's and Parrot Cay, with a repeat of scenery, but not menu, for pirate night. I'd suggest basing my choice on the menus for each restaurant. Everyone has their favorite types of foods and only you can decide what may or may not be interesting to you.

Palo is a special experience and I would recommend it. If you plan on this being your one and only cruise of a lifetime then yes you should make an effort to go this time. If you imagine cruising again in the near future I might consider not missing an MDR and doing Palo on a longer cruise or one that has brunch as an option.

Whatever you choose, it will be fun!

On the four night there is no Brunch at Palo because there are not any sea days

May sound crazy but when we cruise we do both! We book Palo's early ( no later than 6) and still go to our regular dining at 830. Usually at our regular dining we have a few drinks and maybe based on menu something small to eat. We just do both so we don't miss any of the entertainment, scenery and our table mates!

A four nighter does have a sea day and therefore brunch unless somethings changed since I did mine.

I would check the menus and see what you prefer but for me yes I would skip one for Palo every time.

I always book on Pirate night but I've had the pirate dinner a few times and am tired of it. Book early enough and you can still go to the pirate party.

I am on a 4 night this April and I have a reservation for Brunch at Palo. We have two at sea days so I think this must depend on OP's itinerary.

OP, I booked Palo dinner for Pirate night. I am not all that interested in the Pirate night menu and it is the one night (so I am told) that the MDR is a repeat. This way we still get to eat in the 3 MDRs and at Palo. I made our reservation for 6pm in hopes that we will be done eating in time to pu our children from the kids club and make it to the on deck party for the fireworks. Hope you have a great trip!

Your plan for dinner is an exact replica of what we just did on the second leg of our b2b! We got up to the deck party @ 9:15, stood right next to the stage and enjoyed the show etc very much, without feeling rushed for time and still enjoying that good-food-buzz!! Make sure when the fireworks are done that you head back to Beach Blanket for the Pirate night Buffet. You might not be hungry but your kids will be and there is a decent selection of food, fruit and desserts.
(On our previous cruises the Pirate buffet was out on deck so we were surprised to find it indoors on this cruise! It's a good move... It would get insanely hectic before)

Thank you so much for your recommendation! I will absolutely head over to Beach Blanket. My kids would love a buffet after the fireworks. Thank you so much and happy to hear that it worked out so well for you.

We love the atmosphere of all the MDR dinners but not all the WDT shows, so we have early seating in the MDR with the whole family and book a Palo dinner one night for a late seating afterwards.
