Kids' Club registration for a 12-year-old?

I'm doing online Kids' Club registration for our cruise next week. There isn't an option for pre-registering my 12-year-old. Am I missing something or does he not need to be registered?

No he does not need to be registered. Just go to the Edge on the first day. They will have a list of all the age eligible kids and will check him off.

There's no registration for the Edge/Vibe. They come and go as they please. It is important that your child goes to the club on the first night to pick activities for the rest of the cruise. They get together and vote for what they want to do and when.

Thanks for the info. What if he wants to go to the Oceaneer's Club/Lab. Will he need a band for that?

Yes, he will need a band if he choses to go to the lab. They will need to put him into their system.

But I will have to do that onboard, right? There is no pre register option...

Will I need to register my 12 year-old at the terminal or at the Oceaneer's Club?

That's correct, you can't do it online. You can either register him in the terminal or onboard [usually not as crowded]. It will require you to designate who can check him in/out or if you will let him do that on his own, as well as a password for him to be checked out with if by an adult.

This is true. I called about it 2 days ago because I got the paperwork and my eldest DD wasn't able to be registered. I want her to go to the Lab with her siblings. Concierge told me I can just do it at the terminal when I check in. She is 11 and not eligible to register online. They told me it is pretty quick to do at check in. Hopefully they are right! Have a great trip.

You won't actually take care of the kids checkin at the terminal check-in counter when you check in for the cruise. There are tables set up at the far right corner of the terminal where you can check the kids in for the club or lab with the Youth CMs.

Is this different for concierge then? Just curious because that was who I called and who told me I could do it at the check in counter. Of course so far I have learned that shore side concierge is often incorrect from these boards! Either way I would like to know so I can be prepared. Thank you!

I have heard that concierge will take care of that for you in the concierge lounge onboard. Have not seen anyone post that they took care of it at the concierge checkin counter.

Ok. Thank you. We don't have a lounge as we are on the Magic. Sooo...I am going to assume I need to head to another line then after check in. Wish they would get it right when you call. It is the 3rd time I have asked them something and it turns out the real answer is different then what they have told me! It's like when you call WDW and they say your connected rooms are "absolutely guaranteed". But they really aren't!

In all honesty, unless the line at the terminal is short and you have nothing else to do, skip it until you are onboard. You likely plan to go check out the club during open house that afternoon anyway, and it's real quick/easy to do then. The line at the terminal is SLOW and you miss out on characters or looking at the model of the Magic or whatever else you could do before boarding.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thank you! That is a great idea. I didn't know I could just do it after we are onboard. We will do that and register her at the open house. Thanks again.
