Viral obituary

The obituary of a man from my area has gone "viral". Enjoy!

I love it. It gives such a lovely sense of who this man was.

Usually, when I read obituaries, I find them so sad--she was a teacher. She had two kids. She's survived by her two children and two grandchildren. The end. I love this obituary because it highlights so much of his life--all of those moments in between job and kids.

And our local paper featured the story today with interviews with his daughters who wrote his obituary. On the front page is a picture of that tent that he "upgraded" to a used pop up camper. He's sprawled in front of it in his lawn chair, white t shirt, and black socks. http://www.sunherald.com/2013/03/12/...ong-beach.html

I love it, too. "Never losing a game of competitive sickness".

That was great! He must have had quite a personality. His family must be equally cool.

Saw that on Yahoo today, loved it.

Dad wrote the obit for his best friend, and it was my honor to read it at the funeral. Was filled with stories of joy and humor. Everyone loved it, and it was so appropriate for such a fun guy

All obits should be written so well. Makes me wish I would have known him, and almost feel like I did.

Who knew an obit could make you smile and feel so nice?

I'd love it if this sparked a trend and all obituaries were written this way. Oh, and I'm with you on Daylight Savings Time, Harry.

Now that's the way an obituary should be written. Sounds like a great father, son, husband, brother, and human being. Love to know people like this. They have a presence about them.
