Would I need to make reservations for Rainforest Cafe?

We should arrive at SNA at 4:50 on June 1. It's a Saturday. With that arrival time, I don't plan on having park tickets for that day. It is our anniversary, and we like RFC, so I thought we'd do dinner there in DTD and take the kids to Build A Bear.

I don't know what time we'll be ready to eat by the time we get to our hotel and settled and over to DTD. Do you think reservations are necessary on a June Saturday evening? If you think I need them I could make one late-ish and be fairly confident of making it.

How do you make reservations there? I am used to doing it online for WDW.

How late will the stores be open?

YES! The wait time at RFC can be sometimes 2 hours, especially on a Saturday, any Saturday! We were there two weeks ago and luckily made a reservation! We waited 10 minutes to be seated at 6 on a Saturday. They were telling people the wait was 90-120 minutes!

You call RFC directly to make a reservation!

Definitely make a reservation! Make it a bit later than you think you need and then if you arrive early hopefully they can seat you early...Call the hotel directly to make the res.

Yes... we've seen huge lines there. Like a PP said, I make our arrival dinner reservation a bit late (in case we get delayed) then if we get in early we check to see if we can be seated earlier. That way at least we have a reservation for dinner.

We were there 2 weeks ago, on a sunday night. We were too late to make reservations for a party of 11, so we had no choice but to wait. We waited 3 hours!! We window shopped DTD and let the kids play in my sisters hotel room (disneyland) while we waited.

Call as soon as you can, depending on the size of your party, it can be difficult to get last minute reservations. We called 3 days in advance, and no luck for a party of 11.

If you're a member of the Landry's Select Club (formerly Safari Club), you might be able to get away with no reservation. Because there's a different line for cardholders so you pretty much skip the *first* line of people coming in. But if it's busy enough (and a June weekend seems like that's possible) they can suspend that privilege. So I would still make a reservation.

There were people coming in with the card asking for a table and they were telling them it was an hour wait for members! That place is just super busy on Saturdays!!

As a club member I've had to wait 30-60 minutes on weekends, I would definitely suggest a reservation.

Here is the phone number for Rainforest Cafe Reservations. It's different than DL Dining

Thank you OP, for posting this question. We always eat at Rainforest Cafe on our first day in the resort area. However, we usually get in pretty early and go for an early lunch. We've never had problems getting a seat quickly at that time, so I wouldn't have even thought about getting a reservation for my coming up trip. We are coming much later than normal (on a Saturday) and will be having dinner this time! I'm calling right now for my reservation!!!

Thanks again!!

Good to know! We signed up for the club (because it pays for itself) but nobody mentioned the possibility that they could suspend the priority seating privilege.

We went last week of February on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was pretty full and even with our reservation, we still had about a 10-15 minute wait. I would suggest making one.
