DCL in room gifts questions

We are sailing in May, first cruise ever. I would like to surprise our kids with some gifts in the room when we arrive. Has anyone purchased onboard gifts from DCL? like the "Family Fun Pack"? are the bottles good quality? what else is in the "bundle" or the "Dreamy Lights and Memories package"?

We are leaving out of Port Canaveral, I have seen other posts about an outside vendor and her gift baskets, I have no interest in those,(look cheap) only wanted to purchase a few items from DCL.

Thanks for any insight.

I have purchased gifts from dcl, not the ones you have mentioned. I will say that I found them good quality for the price.
on one cruise I purchased the binoculers (sp) for my dh. I figured they would not be great as they were 'cheap' but it would be something he could use and then toss at the end of our cruise. it would just be for things like looking at something out to sea, or things fairly close in port. rather than carry his heavy ones from home, for all he would need, i figured why not. turned out, while they were plastic, they worked so well he decided he would take them home and still uses them.

Hi there. Just curious if it is possible to make up our own gifts and send them to DCL to put in the stateroom so they are there on arrival?

Actually I used the outsider vendor and was impressed by the job done. Not sure if it was worth the money but the disney one did not have much for my teenage boys. Shirley worked on what they would like so in the end they were perfect and the look in their eyes when they opened them was priceless ( we have taken several cruises and I had not done it previously so it was a real surprise).

I LOVE Shirley's baskets, and don't think they look cheap at all I have used both and they are both good quality products. Shirley's IMO can be better personalized.

We did the family fun pack and I just love the water bottles. They are very cute. The backpack is nice, but it is really small

Were the water bottles good quality? What else was in the bag, do you happen to remember?

I am thinking the ater bottles will come in handy on the crusie and when we get home.

We bought the Dreamy Lights and Memories it is cute.
The pillow is about 11x8" and it was the perfect gift for my DS.
We also got the water bottle but the one that was offered when we went looks different than the one on the site now. Ours is really good quality we are still useing it 2 years later.

I agree with this. We have yet to sail out of PC so we haven't used Shirley yet, but the pictures I have seen of her baskets look anything but cheap and are more value for my money than the DCL offerings. And I say this as someone who has bought the DCL in the past (not the items you are asking about) and was satisfied. If I had a Shirley in LA/San Diego or Miami, I would have totally used that.

I have used Shirley for every cruise I've gone on. They do a wonderful job making the basket whatever you want it to be! I recommend them.

Shirley's baskets are amazing. For a romantic cruise with DH, I sent her a very expensive, beautiful watch to put in DH's basket. He loved everything!

The water bottles are very cute, but they are certainly not Nalgene. Our son dropped his after we got home on a concrete floor at work and it cracked. Probably not the most durable, but if treated carefully, should work well. They are handy on the cruise for off ship excursions and also on the ship for cokes!

If I remember correctly, there were round playing cards and card holders in the bag as well.

Water bottles are OK, backpack was awful, odd size so didn't hold much...

Thanks for the input on the water bottles, I like the pillow idea, with a night light.

Seems water bottles in my house only have a life span of a year anyway..
