Never Drove to Port Before - Luggage Question

The luggage tags are not a great big deal. They have blank tags at the porter stations and they put you name and room number on each piece of luggage. I booked a cruise about 7 days prior to sailing and there was NO ISSUE at the port.

If you are coming from someplace on Disney property, I can't tell you they won't make a big deal about it. But it is probably a case of that it doens't happen that often.

Have you registration documentation with your detailed on it and you will be fine if you don't get the tags.

Note: we have also changed rooms before at the last minute. DO NOT use the tags with the wrong room number. Don't let them mark out the room number and write the number in. Request blank tags and ensure they wrte the room number clearly. If you can't read the number, ask to write the number yourself. Then you will be good.

But really, NO BIG DEAL!

Assuming you are cruising out of Port Canaveral - not likely at that hour. "Officially" the terminal opens at 11:00am, but it is more likely to be around 10:30am when they begin to let passengers enter. You'll probably need to wait outside for a bit, or in the passageway from the parking garage (which is at least indoors if inclement weather).

Ok maybe a dumb ?, but never cruised before... So the "porters" are they in uniform or how do u know its just not someone walking up to steal your luggage?
Not trying to be negative, but really how do u know? (Again, never cruised, so it may be obvious when Im there, but humor me for now please)

You are dropping your luggage off at the cruise terminal. The folks wear badges and have a loader to put your luggage on. These folks are compensated my tips. If someone was there to take your bags, the porters would probably fix the situation. Otherwise they would be out our tips. The port is a government secure area and run by the Port Authority.

Thanks! I know that made me sound very skeptical, but when u get on the Disney bus u can see they work & drive the bus... I just didn't know if these were Disney employees or port employees or like u said Govt employees?!? Thanks for clarifying

The documents will normally arrive with the tags around 30 days out. We tend to get them about 30-45 days out.

First time cruiser so possibly stupid question. All my cruise documents will come to me correct?? Or will they go to my travel agent??

We've got ours figured out now, and they went to our travel agent.

My travel agent asked where we wanted the cruise documents sent. And double checked because we have multple addresses in our group of people going.
