My family and I have always stayed at AsMo but we are debating about upgrading to a mod. There are 2 8yr olds going. Which mod would you recommend??

Our fav mod is POR. I feel they have a little more to offer with a boat to DTD, Horse & carriage rides, fishing hole, and evening entertainment.

I have stayed at all of them except for POFQ. My favourite is CSR (especially if you are on the Dining plan). My biggest issue with CBR is the double beds - I much prefer the queen beds at the other resorts.

I have to say I think they're all equally nice- I've tried very hard over the years to try and figure out which is the "best" and in the end I love them all and don't think you can go wrong with any- I just think it comes down to what theming appeals to you.

CSR- best rooms and best bus service, altho pretty sprawling and wish the pool and food court were together

CBR- love the theming and has the best pool IMO, altho slowest buses and rooms need some updating (Which I believe they are right now)

POR- love the river and boat to DTD, however I personally find the rustic feel less enjoyable (personal preference)

POFQ- quaint and quiet, but I think the pool is the worst of all and find the alligators tacky

Comes down to what best fits you- but I truly truly like them all pretty equally. I will say I slightly favor POFQ, CBR, and CSR because they're all more colorful which I think is pretty on vacation- POR is very muted. Look at tons of pictures and just choose on theme!

1995- Caribbean Beach / 1998 x2- Boardwalk & Fort Wilderness / 2002- Sheraton Vistana
2006- Sheraton Vistana / 2006 to 2007- Grand Floridian Cast Member /
2011- Coronado Springs / 2013 Caribbean Beach & Polynesian Split-Stay
Booked for March 2014 for 6 nights at Coronado Springs!

Same here . It's been awhile since we've been to CBR, but our DSs were 7 & 9 at the time and they loved the pool (and it has been redone since our stay). We loved the resort and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I really enjoyed my stay at CBR. Yeah..it's a lot of walking but try and get a place in Aruba or Jamaica and it will enable you to be close to the main house. Really great theming and there's a quiet pool in each section. The whole resort is very relaxing and the main pool is quite good as well.

Stayed at all the mods and both POR and POFQ are my favorites! Riverside is great if you are traveling with kids... more pools, better foodcourt. POFQ is my favorite if I am traveling without kids.. just perfect!!!
Next trip- November 6-14th 2015 Port Orleans French Quarter!!

I've stayed at CSR and POFQ. Staying at POFQ, I had the opportunity to check out POR. The theming at POR and POFQ isn't as appealling to me and the pool at CSR is the best of the three. The POFQ slide is kind of lame. Personally, I'd pick CSR of the mods. CBR looks like it has a great pool too, but the full sized beds are a deal breaker IMO.

We love POR. We love DTD (it's like free Disney), so the boat is a huge bonus. Our DS7 loves the pool, and they have a pirate cruise just for kids three times per week.

POR again!

We'll be checking into POR just a few days before you get to the World. This is our second time staying there and we convinced my best friend and her family to go too. My daughter was four the first time we stayed there and she really loved it too. I found this quote that I think explains why it is our favorite: "While being located right in the heart of the Disney magic 24 hours a day can be a major selling point to some people — especially families — others feel that it can all get a little too much and prefer to get away from all the ‘Disnification’ when they return to their hotel. Luckily, the beautiful landscaping and old-South theming of Port Orleans really doesn’t force Mickey Mouse upon you at all (apart from in the resort gift shop, obviously) and it’s quite possible to chill out and have a relaxed ‘Disney-free’ day without ever leaving the confines of the resort."

Some other selling points for us were the foodcourt (everything we had was delicious), the pool area, and the ferry to Downtown Disney! We also want to try the surrey bikes this time!
