Question about buses

I know I read it somewhere but I can't find it now. The Disney buses go from resort to parks & back but to get from park to park I gotta do some switching around? I guess we'd be going from ASMo to EP one day, then to HS the next and then going from HS to MK for MNSSHP.

No, the buses go from park to park (I've done this as recently as last October). They don't go from Downtown Disney to the parks, though. That's where you need to do some shuffling around.

Is it easy to end up on the wrong bus or are they clearly marked?

They are clearly marked and the bus stops are all clearly labeled. You go to the stop that states the park you want to go to. (MK or whatever) and wait for the bus. It will pull up right next to you. No hassle at all.

The bus will have a lit sign on the front above the windshield saying where its going. The parks and DTD have a seperate gate for each location, so you just go to that gate and wait for your bus. If you aren't sure which bus to get on, just ask the driver.

We were leaving Hollywood Studios a few nights ago and asked where we could get a bus to Magic Kingdom and were told we had to take one to TTC and then go to Magic Kingdom. I didn't see a sign for a Magic Kingdom bus. Anyway, went to TTC then on to Magic Kingdom.

To get from EP to HS, you'll want to head out the "back gate" behind World Showcase and either catch a boat or walk the pathway (about a 20 min walk).

When you're traveling to or from the Magic Kingdom, you go through the TTC, which is where you park if you drive to MK. Another option would be to take a bus to or from the Contemporary, which is an easy walk from the MK.

There is also a bus between DHS and Epcot (at the bus stops near Epcot's front gate.)

As for MK:

Buses to and from resorts go to bus stops near MK's main gate.

Buses to and from the theme or water parks go to TTC; you then have to take a monorail or ferry to reach MK.

There are no buses between the theme parks and Downtown Disney. You need to leave from a resort or change at a resort to get there.

I have a related question: to get from AK to Epcot, would it ever make sense to take a bus to a Boardwalk hotel and then walk, or are the bus stops at those hotels far from the path to Epcot?
Does the AK/Epcot direct bus run often enough that I should just wait for the next one even if I just miss one?

Depends on where you want to go in Epcot.

If you're headed for the World Showcase it might be worthwhile to take a bus to the Beach Club or Boardwalk. But check the bus stops. Sometimes they stop at all five Epcot resorts (BC and BW would be the last ones) and that would not save you any time. I know they split them between 2 bus routes for MK but am not sure about AK. On top of that they might also stop at Blizzard Beach.

I would take a "Boardwalk resort" bus if you wanted to go to World Showcase or the "regular" Epcot bus if you want to go to Future World.

If it doesn't matter,I would grab whichever one comes first.

There are busses from one park to another
There are busses from a resort to a park
And from a park to a resort
To get to MK from DHS though you take a bus to the trans and ticket center and then take the boat or monorail to get to MK

The bus to BC would put you closer to Epcot than the bus to BW would. There is a path that starts between the BC and BCV's that will take you close to the gateway, bypassing the lobby of the resort. You would enter the World Showcase from the International Gateway. If you want to go to Epcot Future World, then wait for a park bus.
