We are opting for the closer Anaheim Plaza Hotel/Inn which we can walk from..and we never eat breakfast nor will we have time with our plans. It will save us nearly $120 bucks which is alot when we are using the room to sleep/nap only.

We had to pay nearly 700 bucks in state taxes..and neither of us is really picky and have seen several people state it's fine for what we are there for. I'm just anxious to go already lol.
It's been a couple of years since I've been there, but AP was fine for us.definitely not luxury, but clean and safe. My only issue is that they charge for parking, so you have to figure that into your budget.

I am so excited for all the new (to this thread) faces (names, I suppose)... especially the PHOENIX area ones!

I am planning my first TRULY solo (not even the Divas to keep me company) trip in May. Really, the only planning I am doing is what hotel to book. I figure since it's just me, I can get away with the Anaheim Plaza because it's close and cheap... and I won't have to worry what anyone else thinks of it! I am thinking of a Wed/Thur/Friday trip because those are my days off and my parents would be willing to take care of the boys for me for a couple of days. It is GREAT that they are so close and so involved in the boys' lives. Their dad, while almost as close and an awesome parent, just can't work it out with his job to get them to school and all during the week.

Had a fledgling relationship crash and burn twice in the last month (I know, I know, how stupid can a girl be???? lol) so I am kind of turned off the whole "trying to date" thing. Who knows... maybe my prince will be waiting for me on this trip? I won't hold my breath!

Everyone have a wonderful day!!
Ah, chin up, lady! The right guy will come along

Bummer, we'll be there the following weekend. Let me know if your plans change.

I hope you all ad a nice Easter. We had 40 plus people at our house today, and I was ever so happy that it didn't rain!

When will you be there? A group of us will be there for MouseAdventure May 17-20 or so.

Awwww... a little Fall baby! And I've commented about how they couldn't get away with some of the stuff from the cartoons and movies I watched as a kid. LOL

Welcome Dawn!

Happy Easter! I hope everyone had a good weekend! I did some work in the garden yesterday and then had to go out an move some of my new baby plants (they are in pots, not in our crappy clay soil) under cover at almost midnight last night when we had a freak thunderstorm roll thru. They usually don't come this close to us, but this bad boy rolled right up I-5. We had one lightning strike that was so close we had immediate thunder that shook the house like a small earthquake. Set off every car alarm in the neighborhood too. Today we went up to the Indian casino and did their Easter Buffet. OMG - I ate WAY too much, but it was all SO. YUMMY.

No news on hubby's job situation. Things are wavering between anxiety and depression around here. Ugh.

Hope everyone had a nice easter!!

Ours was nice. We usually do stuff with my dad's side of the family or just our immediate but we had my mom's side which we very rarely see and it was nice to see them. My girls were in the daughter's wedding about 5 years ago. Had a really nice visit but then felt like I got food poisoning. No one else got sick that I know of but I was fun and then felt REALLY ill and had to leave. So that part sucked LOL.

Shane came over because for us it is just easier to have him as part of the holidays then to try and split up the girls and as long as we are getting along it is fine. He told us that Lynn went back to the hospital Sat night they sent her home and then she went to a different one in the morning on Sunday and ended up having the baby at 1 a.m. this morning. Name is Korabel Lynn and she was 7.4. Shane texted me at 2:30 to tell me and then I had a heck of a time getting back to sleep.

Then I had to turn around and get the girls up at 5:30 for school and we start swim prac tonight so things are going right back to nutso again LOL.

Hope everyone has a great day and on with the planning.

Thanks Mel! Sorry I missed this over the weekend - I think I got distracted by the other Phoenix diva that posted - yes...I am easily distracted!

I did see pictures of the shirts you made for this year's trip - they were truly amazing - you are another one of those creative types like Kerry aren't you?! I am seriously impressed with your abilities!

You should organize one, Karisa! You can do it. Get all the AZ ladies together for some fun in the Arizona sun!
Thanks Beth! My breakfast was good but the company was better - we just laughed and made a spectacle of ourselves at the Wildflower on Sunday morning.

I am curious about the Summer Fun exchange - never done one before but I would like to participate - I'll look for the thread.

Yes - an AZ meet would be fun! Maybe after Karisa's trip in May and before my trip in June??? Just a thought -

Happy Monday everyone - back to work and back to Orientation YAY!! <--- This is me trying to advise 10 students and get them registered in one hour and fifteen minutes. It's great cardio!

Good morning, ladies!! Monday and April Fool's Day all rolled into one. Fun times. lol I never try to trick anyone. Everyone is too suspicious on this day already and I am horrible at keeping a straight face.
According to my calendar it's also national Fun at Work Day. So, good luck with that.

Happy Monday everyone. Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. I had Friday off since I work for a Christian organization and we got Good Friday off . Our Easter festivities were great and I'm loving our new blended family.

I've been having a hard time keeping up on here and FB so I hope all is well with everyone.

Wendy~ I hope your morning sickness goes away soon and I just wanted to rub it in that I never got morning sickness with any of my kids ...

But now that I have Cliff, I'm the happiest I've ever been and every day I go to bed wondering how I ever lived without him. I can honestly say he's my soulmate...awwww .

Hi Divas!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I had a great Easter yesterday (although LisaCat wasn't kidding about the thunder - it was incredible!) We had a nice dinner. I asked my friend Nancy about going to the Diva trip next year and she said YES! Of course, her hubby now wants a trip to DL all by himself too.

Congrats Kellie about the grandbaby!

For those not on Facebook, I have now bought my orange pub crawl tee shirt (thanks to a great sale on Champion activewear at Target.) There apparently is no Disney Outlet in Sacramento - what is up with that???

Happy Monday everyone, no foolin'!

I think I'll be in DL the weekend after Karisa, May 18-20. DD17 has graduation on May 17, otherwise I'd be going on that day!

I wondered how the registration worked. At least my DD had her schedule pretty much already figured out, other than she has English right now for college credit so she can't actually get into English 102 until she finishes. And she's going in with 24 credits already. DH wants her to do some CLEP classes over the summer but I'm not sure what she would take. She's already got Biology, US History, English 101 and a couple of math classes.

24 credits already is great! CLEP is tricky because we don't always take it so you would want to check with her advisor before spending the money on the tests. That English dual enrollment is tough right now - it is great once the credit comes in but there is definitely a limbo stage there.

I did read about your trip too - but forgot when I was posting - again with the easily distracted. I think I have to be so focused when working with students that when I'm not I tend to space out a bit.

Between all of us I'm sure we'll figure out a time that works. It would be fun to get to know you all before the trip.

Yup. School is actually done the week after but the seniors get out early. We start the 2nd week in August.

I know what you mean about the clep stuff. I always refer to the ASU page about which tests they accept. DS21 clepped out of English 101 4 years ago. DD23 went into her freshman year with, I think, 17 credits. Problem was she went to a private school and they only accepted clep tests for up to 30 credits so she had that by the time she finished her first semester so she didn't get to do any. I didn't know anything about them, DH said he did them... MANY years ago.

Beth, you should look into clep tests for Adam. Basically they can take a test for about $150 that gives them credit for a full-semester college class. BUT you have to go to the college's website or talk to someone there to find out what clep tests they actually accept. Where is he going to college?

Here's the official link: http://clep.collegeboard.org/exam

Oh, wow. I keep forgetting how early y'all start and get out. I wish the kids had that schedule.

I haven't heard of Clep. I'll have to look into it. Thanks! He's most likely going to start off at a junior college, CSN, to get started on his general studies. He already knows he wants to enter the police academy, but he can't do that until he's 21.
ETA: They only accept them at UNLV and he's not going there. At least not right off the bat.
