Has anyone taking DCL Transportation from Hotel Galvez?

Fingers crossed here... Has anyone taken DCL transportation to the port from Hotel Galvez for your Galveston cruise? I am wondering how well it is organized and how early the transportation starts. Thanks!!

We just booked our reservation at Hotel Galvez for April 11. We'll park in their secure lot and be shuttled to the port. I look forward to haring some reports from those who come before us.

We did for our cruise last month. It is extremely well-run. There is a Disney Concierge Desk in the lobby of the Hotel Galvez. Upon check-in, we were given a paper detailing all of the information for transportation to the ship. Disney folks picked up our luggage in our room at 9:00 a.m., loaded it into the bus and then on the ship for us. We were asked to wait beside the bus to confirm that all of our luggage was on the cart before they took it into the ship. I believe our bus (complete with Disney TV) left for the port around 10:30 a.m. We went right to the Port, checked in and were given boarding group #2 (We are silver Castaway Club members and this was only our second cruise). The entire process was very smooth and that boarding group #2 was the best part!

FWIW - using Disney transfers to and from Hobby airport wasn't nearly as efficient, but wasn't horrible either.

Does DCL still offer transfers to Hobby? Thanks.

Thank you Tass!! The exact information I was looking for. Was there only one Disney bus from the hotel to the port? Was 1030 the earliest bus? Thanks!!

Boarding Group 2

I think being in boarding group 2 was the best perk about booking Hotel Galvez through Disney. We had no idea that by doing this we would get to board so fast. When we arrived at the terminal it was packed, even though we took the first shuttle from the Galvez. We noticed at the desk that the people in front of us were getting boarding groups with really high numbers. When we got up to the desk ourselves I was expecting a high number too and was completely shocked to get number 2. So if you stay at the Galvez and book it through Disney this may be a perk that makes the extra cost worth it
