Quick Thoughts on Mama Melrose
Had lunch today at Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic dininig package. Were seated at our reservation time of 12:25. Bread and drinks came out fairly promptly. Package includes appetizer, entree, dessert and drink. I had the calamari which was fine, daughter liked her caesar salad, wife thought the mozzarella and tomatoes were just ok and sons did not like the antipasto plate. I had the chicken campanelle, youngest son had the penne with chicken and four cheese sauce, oldest son had the NY strip and wife and daughter had spaghetti and meatballs with four cheese sause. The NY strip my son had was excellent. The pastas were all good but the four cheese sauce is a cream based sauce that is very heavy/cheesy. Although good we couldn't eat too much of it. Probably would have been better with the marinara. And the portions were huge! Dessert was a sampler tray that was good.

I was a bit apprehensive based on some poor reviews but I found Mama Melrose to be prefectly ok. Not as good as 'Ohana but still fine.

So with the package you each get an appetizer? Not just one for the table?

I enjoyed Mama Melrose in November. I think it is a bit underrated.

OP, thanks for the review. I agree with your son- I was really surprised that one of the best steaks I had at WDW on our last trip was from Mama Mia. I also agree about the 4 cheese sauce- it is always very, very rich and filling (not just at WDW)! |

We make it a point to eat here every trip. My wife and I call it the one adult meal. The food is good and if you do the package it is well worth it.

I too love Mama Melrose. I usually get the Chicken Parmesan but I had the steak on my recent visit and it was a great choice
