We went in late July. We packed jeans, sweatshirts, pants/trousers, tops we could layer, capris. We did not pack shorts, but we could have used them as the temps were in the high 70's and low 80's a couple of days (not typical weather we were told). I definitely recommend the jeans for excursions and layers. Then, you can peel off clothing if you get hot. It was VERY COLD on deck coming into Tracy Arm. We were in sweatshirts, jeans and jackets and were freezing. If you are going on the glacier, you'll need warm clothing. Hope that helps!

We went in June. It was nice out, but up on deck when the ship was moving it was quite chilly. Layers are best. Jeans, shirts, sweatshirts, fleece sweatshirts (really helped) and jackets. Our Tracy Arm day was warm since the ship slows down so much you don't have the wind from the movement.

We went in August 2011. I found that most of the time walking around the ship and walking around the ports, I was okay with my jeans, t-shirt, and a normal fleece jacket. On Tracey Arm Day and up on the Steam Train excursion, I added a waterproof light shell jacket, a hat and mitts and I was quite comfortable even though I was out for hours at a time. I did bring extra sweaters and "long underwear", but I didn't use them once.

We are going again in August this summer, and I plan to pack a lot lighter based on my experiences last time. Bring stuff you can wear more than once, and stuff you can layer, and you should be fine

Plan for layers. Along the arm and up on deck it can get chilly. It is also not unusual to get temps to drop to the 50s/60s.
