How much do you tip your Pizza delivery guy?

I am just curious what the average tip is for your Pizza delivery guy. What do you consider a good tip?

I tip them $5 no matter if I just order one $12 Pizza or if I get 2 and the bill is $25. I still tip the $5 because it is no more trouble to bring 2 Pizzas than it is to bring 1. The gas cost the same.

I have seen a similar discussion on different boards and some ppl admitted to not even tipping the Pizza delivery guy anything because the Pizza place charges you a $2 delivery fee. (Even though that $2 does not go to the delivery guy)

We tip 10% of the bill and then round up to the nearest dollar.

We always order from the same place and they do give the delivery guy part of the delivery fee. I usually give $4 no matter what we order.

I always tip 10-15%. For someone that is alone with my food, I want to make sure that it arrives safely.

$5-10 depending on my mood, their attitude when they show up, and the amount of cash in my wallet but never less than $5 (since I know they are not getting any of the fee the restaurant is adding)...I figure they're saving me more than that in gas/time...I try not to penalize them for long delivery times as that's the restaurant's problem of not having more delivery people on a busy night, not their's...

I admit it-usually nothing. The delivery drivers make minimum wage (10.25/hr) and they do not use their own cars to make the deliveries... The cars are owned, and gassed up by the shop. We are charged $3.50 for delivery, because of this. So no tip, unless the weather is really bad.

Tipping or not is each persons decision.

If you don't tip the pizza delivery guy, though, I'd suggest you go over to lousytippers.com and read about what the drivers do in retaliation to the non-tippers.

Beware, bodily fluids are involved.

Lots of Budget Boarders will not tip anyone . It's funny to read their reasons.

I almost never get pizza delivery because I'm too cheap to pay a delivery fee plus a tip so I go get it myself. There are 3 pizza places within half mile or less of here so I go get it myself. If I did get delivery probably $2 tip.

Wow! I thought I was a good tipper, but I guess I'm not! We tip $3, but we also live in the city (close-in suburbs), so it's a quick drive from the shop and to other deliveries. At least that's what I'll tell myself

Usually $5. I agree with you OP that it's really not more trouble to bring two pizzas than one. I guess if I was having a huge party and ordering like 10 or 20 pizzas, then that might be more trouble, and I might give a larger tip for that.

My husband tips way less (like $2 or $3) and I worry about retaliation...so now I always call to order the pizza and put the tip on the credit card when I order.
I read somewhere that it's known in the restaurant business that women tip worse than men--but that's not true in our family.

Nothing....cause I can't tell you the last time we had a pizza delivered. I'd much rather go get it myself when I know it will still be warm when we get it.
