DVC on rented points - make room requests via member or via online check-in?
I am renting points at BLT in late April via David's. From my confirmation emails, it sounds like I could make room requests by going through David's/the member. However, I can also check-in online on my own. Which of these is the better route for a room request? If it matters, I will probably not show up at BLT in person until late afternoon on my arrival day.
Thanks!

You will have very limited request options online.

Thank you both!
Does it matter what order I do things? I would like to check in online now so I can get ME set up - can the member call after I am checked-in online? If I do it the other order (room request by member, then online check-in) does checking in online risk overriding the room request?

You need to remember that the DVC member "owns the reservation" and any communication to MS has to be through them. MS will not speak to to you about anything. The member can also set up ME for you.
Since you're renting points, the number of points used by the DVC member to obtain "your orginal room request" through David's has already been done by the DVC member. Different views, different seasons, and room types all require a different number of points to be used. If you are wanting a very specific view like a MK one, and you asked for a standard one, then you will need to contact Davids again and request them to contact the member and see if they can get that for you. Chances are it will cost more points for the member to do this if available, and therefore an additional cost to you. In the DVC world, you get the room you requested orginally based on the points used, unless you put forth more points to get a better room type or view if available.

I may have been unclear. I meant room requests in the sense of "low floor" or "close to elevator"; I'm clear on the fact that my view category was determined at booking.

Ask the renter to make those special requests for you now. Reinforce them during online check-in if they are available as options.
