I think it's after 2 adults that you have a problem and you are talking about the third person and above. Not sure because I'm not booking any children. But that's what seems to be described here.

I went ahead and booked thru orbitz with 2 adults only, changed my original ressie thru Wdw to arrival night only plus 8 day tix for all 5 of us and kept ME on there. Then cancelled the second half of our split stay. I emailed orbitz asking for the 12 digit Wdw ressie. At some point I will worry about adding the kids back on the orbitz ressie so we can be sure to get a daybed at BC. I will be interested to hear if its easier to do that thru orbitz or Wdw as more people cross that bridge.
I didn't save any money but spent the same amount and now we get Waterview instead of garden view and don't have to switch resorts half way thru the trip. I'm happy!

I never got anywhere with Orbitz when I discovered the issue so I booked with hotels.com using a 10% off coupon. Once I had the Disney reservation number I asked hotels.com to price match the Orbitz 20% off price and they refunded the difference. If anyone wants to know how exactly to set out the price match request to hotels.com let me know.

Has anyone had any experience with the type of room you get from Orbitz vs. booking w/ Disney? We have a disney res and I ask because the only 2 times I have used a third party we did not get what I would consider a nice room.....actually quite the opposite. I would love to save some $$ but not at the price of getting one of the undesirable rooms--and let's face it, most if not all hotels have them.

I just booked the orbitz deal yesterday and immediately emailed them and asked for the Disney ressie # and got it within a few hours. Will call to try and add the kids later today and let you know the results. Ether way, they are covered for ME b/c I have a separate RO ressie for arrival day thru Disney. Worst comes to worst I can add them at checkin to my orbitz part of the trip. |

Thank you very starting this thread! I was oblivious to the whole deal until yesterday when I clicked in here. Now I've got a new Orbitz reservation and cancelled my direct Disney res. Saved $370 on a week stay in a Cars suite at AoA. Yay!

This worked out great for our family. Finally decided on the Poly and got a rate that's even better than typical AP rates!! Current AP rates don't cover my entire trip. This will be our first stay there and we are so excited!! I had a room booked at the Beach Club with the spring promo, but moving to the Poly didn't cost very much more. We're celebrating both mine and my daughter's birthdays, so a little splurge was in order. 80 days and counting.....
![]() Will email to get my Disney confirmation number. For those that have already added the kids, did you do it via email or phone? Thanks to the OP!

I've used Orbitz MANY times in the past for those who are concerned.
I also wanted to update on my experience with Disney thus far. I booked on Orbitz last week. The next day, I got my Disney number from orbitz (chatted wiht CS) and then called Disney to add the reservation and cancel my Disney reservation. It as added to the MDE site. My 60 day mark was 2 days ago and I did online checking. At that time, I changed the address because when you book through Orbitz, the reservation ends up with Orbitz' address (it's always like this, regardless of the hotel). I put in two requests - lake view and highest floor available. Let's see... I still need to call and add my celebrations. I couldn't do that when Disney "adopted" the reservation. I also have to call and get celebrations added to my dining reservations since I made those online so I have to do both at the same time... So far it has been very easy.

I don't have kids, celebrations, requests or need anything except the DME which I've put in for already, so I'm not going to bother with adding the reservation to MDE or doing online check-in. Hope it still works OK.

It's my understanding that Orbitz' bookings aren't treated as often many of the opague sites are (name your own price type priceline/hotwire) where you often do receive the bottom-of-the-barrel rooms with major hotel chains. |

I also booked through Orbitz and have not canceled my existing ressie. But here is my proble. I booked 5 rooms with 1 child and one adult. I need to add 2 children to each room, but if I did that on the original ressie, it charged more. BUT, when I tryied to link them on My Disney Experience, it shows Standard room, wheel chair accessible King. I called Orbitz and they say their system only says standard room. They called Disney on my befalf and sadi WDW says they are standard. BUT I am still seeing King which will not work sincewe will have 3-4 people in a room. Orbitz told me to call All Star's front desk and all they did was transfer me to regular reservations and they said they could not pull up 3rd part ressies. Any ideas???
