I hope you get a buyer soon. But if you want the D&B bag, I would go for it. It could be one of those "opportune" moments.

Historical rate languished around 64 cents for a long time.

Yeah but I don't know. I'm not really a beach person despite living in the tropics. I think my Melbournian blood is too strong Cambodia and Vietnam would be wonderful for its history. My uncle and aunty loved it when they were there last year.

I'm still kicking myself for not getting one last cruise but I got a beautiful suede one from the Dooney store in Vegas. I chose it over vow renewals with Elvis

Bleh! Let's hope we never see the days of 14+% interest rates of my parent's days of their first house.

14+%?

Try 17.75%. That was our first loan.

Nice trade-off.

Hmmm......I haven't ever been able to convince DH to renew vows.....wonder if I can con-vince him that I could trade off for a D&B instead?

(Sadly, I suspect it will be the same answer he gives me for renewing vows! )

May we NEVER see those rates again. But then again, the size of loans were significantly smaller in those days.

I really did want to but I never booked a place or time and by the time we realised it was our last full day and he was crabby over the crowds every time we stepped out. He just usually goes along with whatever hair-brained scheme I come up with

We don't take ourselves too seriously so I wanted the full Elvis thing with a singing Elvis walking me down the aisle and we would all wear sunglasses. I wanted Hard Headed Woman or Devil in Disguise sung Even our proper wedding wasn't 'traditional' and very informal - you know that song, if you wanna be happy for the rest of your life don't make a pretty woman your wife, or however it goes, well we had that played before or just after the ceremony We also had Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks and Any Man of Mine by Shania Twain Yep, no seriousness taking in our house

But I wonder if it was all relative back then, though? Wages weren't as high as they are now.

Our first house, in '98 cost us $84,000 and we thought that was a lot. This house cost way more than that (and I still think it's a lot, but at least we've got 5.5 acres for our $)

We can only dream about house prices in that range.

I agree with PIO, you may need to make the most of the opportunity and get the Dooney anyway.

NZ is for a family reunion so it should be fun. We've been before. The only thing I want to do is the Hobbiton tour

Okay, you've twisted my arm, I'll get the Dooney We can just eat McDonalds for weeks

Great! When do you want me to come over I promise to keep my feet off the sofa

Argh, this winter solstice is horrible. It's so dark and the sun's barely been out today I feel like a hibernating bear

And it's roast chicken and vegetables tonight Last day of school for two whole weeks No more school lunches, nagging for homework to be done, nagging over bedtimes.. :D
