I am not sure if I will do a PTR for GF...maybe...HRH asked which buiding Brandon picked (yes DS12 is making requests) and said as long as it's not the big one it's too loud in the snack room there. I explained there will be no snack room, it's too much money. She asked how much more...I said several thousands and she said, "Oh, okay but we are saving money so we can buy any snacks we want, right? " Yep Princess, we can Maddie's request is to be by the pool

It is fantastic to share trip plans here!!!! Because we fell the excitement

Sarah is everpresent in my trip planning, and I will think of her constantly at the Grand. It will be hard not to want to text her pics and thoughts. I do believe she had a hand in my pixie dust

Pas & Janet: I'm with you two on the texting. Texting is a much-welcome source of communication for this shy gal. Now, if I could just remember to check it when I hear the notification (Perry's growl, by the way)
I am good with this trip! GF is the family summer trip in August. DH and I will be at sports in 25 days!!!!!

Funny about text vs. calling...Janet can attest..as soon as I pick up the phone...kids gone wild here Perry's growl..love it. I had it's a small world as a ringtone on my old cell

I was thinking of adding the water park option, but I don't know that the kids would really enjoy it any more than a resort day with a nice pool, playground, and arcade, etc.
I was talking to DH about WP..he said he'd prefer a a day at the pool. Especially since they get busy in the afternoon...

A very happy Friday to all! Spring is coming!!

I heart-Glad you are back, your vow renewal plans sound lovely!

Jenny-About those grand marnier slushes, they are yummy. We have been known to get one with two straws. Fun to share!

Wookie-I love hearing about your knitting plans.

Luv-Lucky you visiting Flower and Garden.

Marie-That would so nice if you get to do the next Diva trip. I hope your husband continues to do a bit better each day. Thinking of you!

Missout- Looking forward to hearing more as you plan for your dhs 40th. Hope you have some nice warmer weather coming your way. 13 days till spring. Were all tired of cold, snow, bring on the tulips!

Pas-A personalized snack assortment sounds delightful!

Pas, Janet, Missout-Texting is really handy for me, too. With adult kids, it lets me touch base without worrying Im calling at a bad time. I also text goofy knock knock jokes to my son, he tells them to gs. When I get a call from them a few days later, gs usually tells me the joke back, very fun, and so cute!!!

Thanks everyone for all the kind wishes on our WDW plans. You are such sweet friends!

Hi Ladies,

I need some help. Have any of your little ones gone through a hitting phase? My DD in grade one is going through some sort of phase (I hope) where she gets super mad at me. For instance today was a themed dress up day at their school "tacky tourist day" and we were scouring the house trying to find something for all of them to wear. I guess DD6 teacher said to come dressed like they were on vacation so she wanted to wear shorts only, with nothing on her legs. I kept trying to explain to her that it is still winter, snowed last night, and very cold. She could wear the shorts but with tights underneath.

She gets this posture going, grits her teeth, and breathes like a wild animal at me. I know the routine, and just tried to play off by laughing and making jokes, but then she kept kicking at me, until she actually got me in the stomach. Well, needless to say there went my patience and humor.

My losing it is not pretty for anyone to see, and all of the DD's morning was then taken down the wrong road. I am just so sad and frustrated. I try so hard to keep it together, and then end up losing it and wrecking everything.

I am so afraid that these girls will grow up to hate me. My worst fear ever. I know my DD8 went through a similar phase when she was in grade 1, but I miss my sweetheart DD6 sometimes, and wonder if she will come back.

Sorry all, I had to come here as I don't want to share with anyone else. I am to upset.

Sitting here crying looking at her frickin doll, how pathetic is that

Thanks

Jen

Now that my Dad is down in SC, my kids text constantly..and my girls text their Daddy when he's at work. I love that your GS remembers your jokes to text it back...very cute!!!

Your girls will never hate you Jen You are an awesome mom, and you love them We all lose it, trust me. HRH has her meltdowns..I took the lead from DH..ignored her, when she started hitting, I'd sit on her, and calmly say when you are done..eventually the crying slows down I let her go, and she eventually snaps out of it. She is testing you Jen.

My DS4 now is starting to hit and curse usually because he's tired or hungry. He is tough, but same thing, time out..he starts smacking me. I hold him until he regains control...but I have some less than stellar meltdowns myself We try our best, but we are human Jen

I think you're awesome, and so do you girls...it'll be a fresh start this afternoon

Home with Steven this morning so I am going to finally try to catch up. My dr's appt got moved to Monday so I still don't have answers but still not doing better, I feel like I am 4 weeks post surgery instead of 4 months Had to Steven in for a strep test this morning, he woke up complaining of a sore throat which he NEVER does and sure enough there was a nasty white spot. Rapid test was negative so we will see what the 24 hour one shows, the ped said the raw throat seems to be the start of a nasty cold so we should be expecting that Oh and just to add to the morning the autism resource teacher I had a meeting scheduled with this morning didn't show up at the school

So lets see what I can figure out after being away from the Dis for so long.....

Linda - love the siggy and woohoo for another diva trip! Sounds like this one was amazing! Hope DD's finger is okay.

i_heart - I'll PM you the blog address, but I'll warn you I haven't updated it recently (too much other things going on). The vow renewal sounds amazing! I am sure this trip is very much needed right now

koh1977 - we kept saying we were going to the the water parks, but decided against it and my kids were really just as happy being in the resort pools and having more park time.

Wookie - hope everyone is feeling better in your house! Did you make it to Panera last night?

Miss - what have I missed in your life Oh did the fruit come back home sans marshmallows???

Jeanette - okay so I get that you are at GF in August, are you still doing any US/IoA days? Or is this an all WDW trip now?

Ginny - congrats on the trip! Is it all booked?

Deena - the slushie looked so yummy! I keep kicking myself for not having a trip planned during F&G.

Dani - sorry about all the family drama Did you plan a mommy/Lily trip?

Jen - you are so not boring I could never keep a secret from my kiddos the way you do!

Okay got to run! Hello to everyone I am missing

Melissa

I am so sorry your having trouble like that. JM went through a phase where he would get violent when he was upset. He too started with the breathing thing usually. If it wasn't nailed down, he would throw it at you. Including a desk at a teacher. I do the humor thing with him as well when he starts getting angry. Also, I make him take a deep breath and count from 10 - 0. If he's still angry, he takes another deep breath, and then counts 0 - 10. He keeps doing this, switching counting from 10 - 0,and 0 - 10. When he's calm, I explain why he has to do things my way.

I probably would have told her that not every vacation is a warm enough destination to wear shorts without tights, depending on the time of year and location. Depending on the time of year, she would even have to wear tights with shorts at WDW. If that didn't work I would be like fine if you wanted to wear shorts with no tights to school you need to understand that you will be freezing and that I would be sending her tights (or jeans, if you don't think she could put the tights on by herself at school) in her backpack.

Wookie: Yes, this is what I should've done, let her experience the natural consequences of her actions. Sadly I just let her see that an adult can act just as poorly as a child!! Oh well, we'll just keep swimming, just keep swimming....

Oh Jen, BIG I have been there too! I don't understand what gets into them. I feel like I am always saying "we don't hit in this house". I think it is honestly just a way for them to get out their frustrations with us, it definitely doesn't make it right and it is our job to make sure they know that. Unfortunately I am not exactly calm when I snap either and everyone in the house knows it!

I am sure everyone will come home in a better mood this afternoon and she may surprise you and apologize

Hang in there, you are a great mom, but we all have limits! Take some comfort in knowing you aren't alone

Just keep swimming....this is what my DH always texts me when I "lose" it

Crazy how kids can be so different. Kate is like that, no punishment really "gets to her" but yet to the other extreme she is the most sensitive and insigtful as well. Emotional overload If this is what it's like now...lets hurry into that compound so we can band together when they are teens

Thanks Melissa, she did already say sorry to me, making me feel worse. They need us to set a good example, and that is what I struggle with. I really think I need to talk to somebody, too many issues in my brain I think. Not being able to forgive myself is one of them.

Thank you Ginny and all....and Melissa I do hope your DS feels better soon, and that it is NOT strep. Hate Hate Hate strep.

Pas yes, our two do sound alike. She is very very sweet, and sensitive too.

OK, moving on here....you know the POR lover Venomhatch? He has posted on the POR thread that something disgusting happened when they were there recently that caused him to maybe never want to go back. He will not say what only that they had to move rooms because of it. Ugh...bedbugs perhaps??? I wish he would just out with it!! Maybe I will be taking POR off my list for November.

Jeanette - DH tells me all the time that his biggest fear is that I will be menopausal when DD is going through puberty and that either her or I will have to move out, LOL! Guess we need to start planning that FL compound again so we can all escape there

Jen - I know it's hard to forgive yourself. I always make a point to apologize for my behavior as well. I explain that mommy gets frustrated and angry too but I should have handled it differently. My DD is total attitude as well! When I tell her to go to her room she looks and me and says "no...you can't make me" then she proceeds to run around the house laughing hysterically, it's infuriating!!! Being able to vent and cry is really the best therapy!!! HUGS!!!!

He will not say what only that they had to move rooms because of it. Ugh...bedbugs perhaps??? I wish he would just out with it!! Maybe I will be taking POR off my list for November.
He and Andre said it wasn't bedbugs, but something else disgusting? Idk...I'm thinking of crossing POR off my list as well...

Now seeing as though DH and I are not tall people, the length is not an issue. And 6"? Really? That's only a few inches more per person, so...I won't use that as a deal breaker for CBR...
