Well it ended being $526 for the heater hose assembly and oil change. We still need front brakes, at least 2 tires, and possibly rear brakes and a transmission flush. We're not going to the dealership for the brakes though because the DH thinks we can get it done for half the dealership quoted price at Half Price Brakes.

Ugh...def check around for breaks. A local mechanic is usually much more reasonable.

I've been tweaking our vacation a bit. We're staying for two days in Clearwater to visit MIL before we go to WDW. Originally, we were going to stay at the Residence Inn at Treasure Island in a two bedroom suite ($692 for two nights), so DS (19) could have his own room and bath. It seemed like a lot, so I just switched to the Marriott All suites at Sand Key. DS will have to sleep on a queen size sleeper in the living room---just as he will at BCV---but it is only $440 for the same two nights. The difference nearly pays for our rental car.

My sister came to visit yesterday. She lives with my older and somewhat immobilized parents, takes excellent care of them and could certainly use a break for a few days. She asked if she could join us on our WDW trip for three days. She probably won't be staying at BCV though. Maybe she can get a room at BC? If she can't join us in July, we discussed a sisters' trip to celebrate her birthday during Food and Wine which would be so great, assuming I am not entirely impoverished after remodeling our kitchen this summer. http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/scared07.gif

Enjoy the last day of the long weekend, everyone!
ILOVE Clearwater...I LOVE Treasure Island!!! Sand Key looks lovely!!! Any savings is a good savings. We switched to Myrtle Beach yesterday due to a sale, we get an xtra beach night, an Grandpa can come play with the kiddos (He moved to SC recently)

Good morning all!! :-) hope you hot to enjoy a long weekend with family and friends. :-)

We went to the zoo yesterday in the rain. Kinda a bust but still enjoyed the time away from home with the fam. And everybody was jealous of our rain cover for the stroller. DD was the driest of the bunch, that's for sure! :-)

Today I am running errands and making phone calls, etc. but I have coffee, so I'm set!! :-)

Have a good day, and I will check in later!

Yeah, I'm going to check Half Price Brakes and a mechanic in the town I grew up in that my in laws used before.

I'm working my friend's in home day care this week. When I got here, there was only one kid and it was one of the infants. One of the kids parents sent me a text yesterday saying they wouldn't be bringing her daughter in. Then the lady, that is supposed to be here had a death in the family. Her boyfriend's step-dad, the man that raises him, had been found dead in his home and he had been dead 2 - 3 days. By 9, we only had 2 kids so I told her she could go. Another one just showed up.

Jeanette With a large family I can see the value of CL but when you have to book 2 rooms it just seems to be over the top expensive. I always said when I stayed at the Poly I was staying CL but at $150 more a night for just the 2 of us No Way no How $150 pays for our entire day of food. Now CR my dream is TPV but with the prices being what they are GW is very attractive and Definately a good option.

Happy Birthday Kate!

It's almost a $2000 savings if I do CR GW. $250/nt with AP rate per room....if we used the lounge more perhaps I could kinda justify it. But our priority this trip is easy transportation and close to the pool....oh and a beachy area and pool slide...I could've switched back to CSR BC, but I don't wanna

The Wyndham Grand Orlando has a room on the executive level for $207/nt it sleeps 7...it's by CBR, but offsite technically..... Nevertheless we are going to WDW

Wookie: Eep. Cars.

Melissa and Sue: You two recovered from your birthday celebrations?!

Dani: You're UP NEXT! We are all anxiously awaiting pics.

Janet: Did you get my reply?

MM, Koh, Christine, Lacey, GG, Marie, Kookster!

Breaks ugh!!! One time on my last car I went to 2 places, Speedy, and Budget Brakes. Speedy looked and gave me a normal quote. Then I thought I'd get another quote and went to Budget. They guy comes out with a long list of repairs and twice the price Really? makes me so mad that some put out there ridiculous quotes for non existent things. Prob taking advantage of me being a woman.

My current car is just off warranty. I've been getting it serviced at the dealer so far, at Hyundai. Their prices don't seem any higher for the stuff I've had done. And I trust them not to rip me off with trumped up repairs for things that don't need repair. It's scary out there. Good luck with the breaks.
