Are you asking because you're under 18? Cove Cafe is 18 and over, as you noted. Under 18 isn't allowed even "just to get it to go".

they never used to...maybe they are doing them now, because of complaints from passengers who couldn't go in the Cove with children to get coffee.

I didn't think of the possibility that the OP was under 18 herself...I don't think she can even go in the cove and buy anything if she is under 18.

The cost was similar to Starbucks coffee, around $3.50-$4 a drink + 18% automatic gratuity.

It's charged to your KTTW card. Onboard is a cashless society, all purchase you'll use your KTTW card.

Are you sailing with someone who can watch her for a minute while you go in? DH and I got to go drinks several times, we just would send one in, and the other would keep the kiddo. It takes like 5 minutes, and you can ask for a to-go lid.

The Hot Chocolate Italiano (cocoa with Frangelico) is way nummy. Probably not a summer Caribbean drink, but I became addicted on the Alaska cruise.

I had no idea you could get a cappuccino or latte in the Promenade Lounge...may have to check it out in Alaska. Although, it's hard to beat the view from the Outlook Cafe

sorry but i interpret that to mean that they can not stay for a long period of time 5 minutes inside the cove to pick up a drink I'm fine with. If it's for like 30 minutes then I'm looking for the next officer that walks by.
