When DCL starts decorating for holidays?

In 2011 I went on a 7 night Disney Cruise two days after Thanksgiving and the entire ship was decked out in holiday decor. It was so pretty! This year I am going on a 4 night cruise on the Magic again( same ship as 2011) about 8 days before Thanksgiving and was wondering if anyone knows when DCL starts decorating? I know the parks start early so I am hoping that even though it is a week before Thanksgiving that the ship might be decorated? The ship is great either way but it was even more magical and really got us in the holiday spirit =)

I would love to find this out also. We are going on a 4 night Dream Cruise November 10 and I was wondering if things will be decorated. Would love to see the gingerbread house up.

I was on the Magic this past Thanksgiving. I expected the ship to be all decked out for the holiday, but it wasn't. They were working on the gingerbread house. That was it...no Christmas tree or any other decorations. I was a little disappointed. The rumor was that the decorations didn't make it to Galveston on time. The decorations went up for the following cruise.

I was on the Dream the week before Thanksgiving 2012. The gingerbread house was started but not complete. The other decorations, like the tree, were not out yet. The gift shops had holiday merchandize like t-shirts that said "Cruising through the holidays".

Thanksgiving was early last year. This year, with it being at the end of Nov., I'd imagine everything would be up for the Thanksgiving cruises.

The ships are decorated on a rotational basis based upon where their home port is at the time. The Magic was indeed the last ship to be decorated this year and the first to be undecorated. We disembarked on 12/29 and the decorations were coming down that morning. I knew the New Years ppl must have been hopping mad.

I definately would have been mad if I did thed NYE cruise and there were no decorations. We did the Magic NYE 2001 and all the decorations were up and so was the gingerbread house. It made for some wonderful pictures.

Until this year, the ships were decorated by mid-November with CC being decorated the Friday after Thanksgiving. I understand people who were on the Thanksgiving cruise on the Magic this year being upset. In the past they could depend on the ship being decorated for their holiday pictures. Now you really can't.

We were on the first key west cruise of the Wonder this year (January 10) and were VERY surprised that she was still decorated for Christmas - it was AWESOME!
