How wet?

Okay, so we're pretty much front and center on the rail waiting for World of Color. I'm halfway between being glad we got a good viewing spot and being worried about how wet we're going to get. Do you think our phones and cameras are safe to get out?

It depends on the night. Usually you do not get very wet. Sometimes you do. For some parts of the show you will not want to have a camera out. For most of the show it is usually fine.

We were pretty much in the same place this time last year. And the weather was cold. Maybe 5-6 people back and were very wet. To the point where I couldn't enjoy the show because I was so concerned about my baby being cold. I hadn't anticipated getting wet so I didn't bring the best blankets to cover her. my hair was wet. Not damp. Wet.
Even though the signage said we may get lightly misted on. It was may more than a light mist.

Good luck!

E T A: it was not windy that night. So wind wasn't a factor.

Based off my previous experience I'd definitely leave the phones and cameras out away unless you have waterproof cases.

I've been in that spot and about half the time, walk away dry, the other half ranges from damp to soaked. Usually you won't feel the winds that move the higher water, and gets you wet.

Also, you'll get the full effect of a warming sensation sometime during the show, so that'll at least dry you up from the beginning portion of the show if you get wet

I was right up against the rail two weeks ago and barely got misted on...I kept my camera out the whole time and never worried about it at all.

I didn't realize you could get wet at this show! Is the Carthay Circle viewing area in the wet zone?

When we were there front and center we were soaked. But we had ponchos and were prepared and it was worth every drop! My favorite Disney nighttime show. Love love love.

my daughter loved this part, we were at the railing and got damp but with the heat from the flames warmed up.

My daughter goes on to tell everyone "its the best spot, you get wet, but then you get hot!" she really liked that part.

I was happy we could see the show unobstructed, as we had tried to see it the night before and obviously didn't arrive early enough because we were behind many people and couldn't see any of the show only the tops of the water

It wasn't bad, thankfully! We got pretty misted, especially towards the end, but I was wishing I had some kind of camera out ! Our view wasn't unobstructed, mostly because of a family that somehow worked their way up to the rail as it started, (didnt mind the 5 kids as much as the adults that stood right behind them with a baby on their shoulders...) But our kids -could- see, so I guess the waiting and the possibility of getting soaked was worth it! Pretty awesome. I think I cried 3 times and couldn't even figure out why!

The default CCR viewing area is in the back and not in the wet zone. But I recommend going to the front of the whole reserved viewing area and not the default location. At the front of reserved viewing you are out of the official wet zone but can still get damp there.

I have never gotten very wet at WOC and have been at the very, very front twice and at the front of the reserved area four times now. Half the time it was nothing. The other half I did feel a bit damp afterwards.
