UK DisCruisers -- Help w/Choosing Tesco Phone

OK this is a little weird, but I'm researching PAYG phones for our upcoming Med cruise. (BATS--where are you? )

We'll be starting our trip in the UK, so I'm checking out Tesco phones. I have absolutely no familiarity with PAYG plans or phones in the UK (or Europe).

Do the PAYG plans work throughout the EU?

I've been checking out Virgin Mobile but alot of people have suggested Tesco.

So which looks best? In reading the FAQs it appears that I need to have a 3G Tesco Sim to be able to roam w/in the EU? Do they sell these in local Tescos or do I have to ask for one specifically? So confused...

Hi, most Tesco stores have a phone shop section in and you should be able to pick both phone and sim card up in store. Your best bet is to go to a larger Tesco (not a "metro").
