Help me decide where to eat at Hollywood Studios
Hi there!!
I started reserving dining for our trip in April. So far I have a few booked. Would you be so kind and recommend a good place to eat at Hollywood studios? Also of the list I have booked is there one you would eliminate? My girls are 5 yrs old. I tried to book BOG but no luck Thanks!! (We are on the dining Plan)Boma Dinner Ohana's Dinner Crystal Palace Dinner Akershus Dinner Cape May Cafe Dinner Ohana's Breakfast |

My favorite place at DHS is Hollywood Brown Derby, however, it's not really a good use of two credits. For shear fun, my family likes Sci Fi.

A vote here for Sci Fi. We tried it last year with our nearly 4 year old DS and didn't really know what to expect, but it was a blast. Its such a unique, and original place to eat. Some have reported younger children being scared of the weird movie clips they play on the big screen, so if thats not your cup of tea, maybe avoid Sci Fi.

We like 50's Primtime. I'm not saying it's "the best thing ever" but the atmosphere is fun and I found the meatloaf and pot roast both worth going back for. As for Brown Derby, we were a party of 9 and most did not enjoy that meal. I found the food very good, but (much to my chagrin) my parents and two younger children do not care for anything that is a little "fancy" and so did not find the food appealing. I would check out the menu there to be sure your family would enjoy their offerings.

another vote for 50's Prime Time. Had a great dinner there for Mothers Day last year, and again in December. Have eaten there several times over the years and never had a disappointment.

DH and DD's love Mama Melrose. We have had wonderful meals there.
And DD's have also requested a return trip to Sci Fi. The atmosphere there is a ton of fun for kids (at least mine ).

I don't care for any of the sit downs at HS. My opinion would be to eat CS at the park, we like Backlot Express and then either do a breakfast before (maybe Kona) or dinner away from the park at one of the resorts or DD (Park Fare, Chef Mickeys or Raglan Road are great options) .

Sci Fi and Primetime both have decent food with great atmospheres that a 5 year old would enjoy.
I like the food at the Brown Derby but it isn't a great DDP value and not nearly as fun for kids. I would go with Sci Fi!

50's Prime Time is my favorite. I normally get the fried chicken.
Last trip we did try Sci-Fi and it was okay. My kids liked it. I just asked them which they liked better. They said both. |
