book a cruise on board or kids free?

which is the better deal?
2008 Christmas at the AKL 2009 Halloween at the CSR and 2010 Mothers Day at CSR then 2011 10 days On the Wonder!!

You cannot depend on a KSF or *GT rate being offered for the cruise you want. If you are limited to when you can cruise, book onboard for the discount. If you are flexible, then wait for a KSF to show up on one of the ships.

Depends how many kids you have...if you have 3 kids and willing to all stay in 1 stateroom, a Kids Sail Free deal is like a bigger savings than the 10% discount and OBC. However, as PP mentions, no guarantee a KSF will be offered.

We booked on board last cruise and when the KSF became available, I called DCL and asked which was better. They compared rates for me and we discovered KSF was better (even though I lost my onward credit) so they switched it. I still got priority boarding for booking early and got the better deal. I say always book while on board!
