Residence Inn park/cruise

Has anyone ever used this service? Was your car safe? How where the shuttles? How much is cab fare from the hotel to the port for 4 people?

We have used it once and are using it again in May. Last year the we where told what time to be there for the shuttle in the am the next morning. It is an open lot but we felt it was safe. They ask you to park in certain locations at the hotel parking lot for the park and cruise. They give you a phone number to call on your return to be picked up.

Residence Inn also has what they call Manger's special Monday-Wednesday free soda, beer and wine. Along with a rotation of other things. On our particular night it was all kinds of cheeses, brownies, cookies, and some other light snacks. Free breakfast is served in the morning.

We did not use it but stayed the night before and used hertz. We could have used them as well. It is a very nice hotel and clean and nice pool and hot tub and good breakfast.

We've stayed at this Residence Inn twice, December 2012 and January 2013. In December we only used the shuttle service. In January we did the whole park, stay, shuttle thing. Both were good experiences and we will use them again the next time we cruise. The hotel has one of the better breakfasts we've had and its all included in the cost of the room.

The "shuttle" is operated by TravelLynx, a local transportation company that provides this service for many of the hotels. We had a big bus the two times we used it going to the port. We had a smaller van-type shuttle coming back in January.

Going to the port on departure day there is one pickup (about 11:00 if I recall correctly). Coming back you just walk out to the designated area (your driver will explain it) to catch the shuttle. We were fortunate that there was already a vehicle there when we got off our January cruise. Otherwise its a short wait until the vehicle gets there.

We were there in January and had a great experience. We parked there and used the shuttle, used marriott points for the room, but paid $6 each for roundtrip. You have to sign up for it when you check in and we were given a pickup time of 11:15, but it was there by 10:45. We boarded and were at the terminal in 5 minutes. After disembarking, we went out and found the Travel lynx guy who then called a shuttle for us, waited less than 5 minutes and the driver dropped us off by our car. We had a great experience and will stay there again.
