Characters at Aulani - The DIS Discussion Forums

Ok, I know there is a thread on here somewhere already, but I could not find it. What characters would we see around the grounds? Character breakfast?
I know of Mickey & Minnie, of course, and pretty positive I read Stitch somewhere. Which leads me to my next question. I do not recall reading that LILO was there, however, last year at DLR a CM told me she was there. So, is she?

No, Lilo is not there. At least, she wasn't during our trip this past August/September, and I have not read any reports that this has changed.

In addition to Stich, Minnie and Micky, we also saw Chip & Dale, Donald, Goofy... I think that was it. We did not do the character breakfast, so I can't help you with who attends that.

Was there Jan 18-25.

We saw the same characters as floribr1. We did the breakfast, and it's the same characters, plus "Auntie" from Auntie's beach house and the Menehune adventure trail.

We saw the characters at the following places:
1. at the character breakfast
2. out for a meet and greet between the 'olelo room patio and the lazy river
3. at the pool
4. in auntie's beach house in the morning

We didn't see the starlit hui, although I think they make an appearance there
I think there might be some other activity on the beach that a character might show up at

We saw the least of Donald, and there seemed to be quite a bit of excitement when he appeared, so I don't think it was just us!

Very bummed Lilo isn't there :-( Lilo and stitch is my daughters favorite. If Disney can have Lilo at Castaway Cay for DCL (only time we've seen her) , you would think she would be at Aulani! My DD got a Lilo dress for the trip, was hoping it would look cute in pictures with Lilo and Stitch...

No Pluto to go with the classic characters? Pluto is DS9s fave character.

And you would think Lilo of all characters would be there!!

Lilo has been on the Wonder when we've sailed her also (along with Stitch). I would have thought she'd be in Hawaii too!

Now I wish the DLR CM had never said that. I was booking our character dining for that trip, and when the CM was telling me about Surfs Up with Mickey & Friends, she explained to me that it was no longer Lilo & Stitches place, as Stitch is making appearances elsewhere & Lilo moved to Aulani!!

As far as I know, Stitch is still at surfs up (gone twice in last few months). Only reason we book that meal! Lol. Lilo is not though..

Actually, I didn't notice him missing in the earlier list. I'm pretty sure Pluto was there.

I wasn't aware, we didn't eat there. Still haven't made it to Surfs Up or Storytellers.

Surfs Up is our fav

Best character interaction compared to others in DL/DCA. And all classic characteres (except Stitch). We always get Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Daisy- all in their surf wear.

From what I know the reasoning behind no Lilo is that she is a caricature of a Hawaiian person. Seeing as there are many Hawaiian people at Aulani I believe it was a decision based on cultural sensitivity. A good move in my book.

Yes, and I agree with that. Aulani has done a marvelous job of being true to the native culture, and I think it might be a mistake to include her. They DO have Stitch there as a statue too.
