CBR bigger than CSR?
We've stayed at CBR (preferred) and LOVE it!! Alot of people seem to like CSR better saying CBR is so big. But when I look at a map I think CSR looks big too and the pool looks so far away from the foodcourt/store. Is it?

I think they are both large but I did think that CSR is a little easier to get around. But CSR is a bit confusing with the preferred rooms being close to the food areas and the main pool on the opposite side from the resort (far from the preferred rooms). We liked both resorts a bunch but they are different. We preferred the food options at CSR but the pool and overall theme of CBR.

Yes, they're both large. If you have a car, it's not a big deal. If you're relying on Disney transportation, they both have busses that can get you around the resort (CBR's is official, CSR's is unofficial, ask the front desk).
CSR is a giant circle, where CBR winds this way and that way- you can even end up in Pop Century's backstage area if you make a wrong turn. I like that CSR's front desk is connected to dining, gift shop, and the convention area. CBR's front desk is kind of on its own and inconvenient if you don't have a car.

We have stayed at both and preferred CSR by far. It's a nicer resort and better layout. We never rent a car when we are onsite except to go to universal and didn't find transportation to the parks an issue. I learned after this trip we are just ending where we stayed off site that buses are more convenient than a car rental since they drop you closer to the gate.

I can't find the exact acreage of each resort, but based on the wdwinfo resort fact sheets, I would say that CBR (my very favourite) is larger.
CSR: 1,917 rooms. The lake covers 17 acres with an approximate perimeter of 1.1 miles. CSR: 2,112 rooms. The lake covers 42 acres with a 1.4 mile perimeter. |

I've stayed at both and to me CSR seems smaller. Another plus is the bus service is less crowded.

Being an architect familiar with laying out site plans, all three large moderates are about the same size square footage wise; CBR, CSR, and POR.
It is the way CBR is laid out. A few things; first of all, it is really elongated, which makes it seem so much farther from the main building. The other two resorts are more round in shape and things are a bit closer. The other thing I noted (I have stayed at CBR and POR) is that the entire walk to the building from the bus stop is not under cover - you don't get under cover until you walk clear across the parking lot. At POR and I believe looking at the pics are CSR, once you exit the bus and go up the sidewalk to the building, you are under cover the entire way from the overhangs above. You are essentially in the shade a lot faster. |

In my personal experience, I believe CSR to be a tad smaller...Both Large though. Just easier to navigate through CSR.
I hate to sound bias to 1 or the other, but IMHO CSR has soo much more to offer.....Grant it, if I had to stay at CBR I wouldn't turn it down, but it's just not my thang..LoL
