Offsite vs Onsite for our one time visit??

I'm asking this outside of my other thread as I am seeking everyone's opinion as opposed to just the American point of view in my planning thread.

We are getting ready to book for Easter weekend.

Anyone have thoughts on onsite vs offsite?

We are leaning to offsite for the money savings, but the Early Magic hours are very tempting seeing as the odds of us returning anytime soon are pretty slim. We used this same strategy at Disneyland in California since we may not make it back over there again. But, that was a Disney specific trip. While our main focus is visiting Disney, we will only be dedicating 2 of our 4-5 day to it.

We though about splitting our stay, but only being there a few days it's not worth the hassle of relocating mid-trip.

For our stay (flying into CDG) we are looking at:

Disney (Sante Fe or Cheyenne): $3800 (tickets for duration of stay)
Offsite close to Disney: $2800 (two day hopper)
In Paris: $3500 (two day hopper)

Has anyone who has done both? Which did you prefer and why?

have you looked at other countries versions of the DLP site for your dates? It could be a lot cheaper if you use say the UK or French site to price up your onsite stay. On any weekend, never mind Easter weekend (when almost all European countries, including France, will have an extra day off work) getting EMH will be invaluable on a short visit to DLP.

I agree as above, check the prices of the other sites. We're Americans stationed over seas and have used the French site twice finding it to be the best value, and the US site costing the most.

I see there is a new offer up that would save us almost $600.

How do I go about booking it from the US????

just book it all online, and leave the country as it is (so whichever country's site you are seeing the best price on). Fill in all the other booking details with your own personal details. All the confirmation comes to you by email, nothing is sent through the post. The confirmation email with its booking reference number is all you need to check in and get your room key, park tickets etc at DLP.

DOH!! Unfortunately, that promo was for arrivals starting the 31st. We'll be arriving on the 28th. So at this time, it's actually a but $30 cheaper to book on the US site.

We've got our flights booked (seat availability on the non-stop flights was getting really slim!).

We may bite the bullet and book it rather than wait for another possible promo.

I'm an on site kinda person. I like to be able to walk to the parks from my hotel and enjoy the perks staying at a Disney hotel offers you. EMH, being able to charge things to your room and geting your purchases in the park delivered to your hotel to save having to carry them around with you.

Onsite would be my choice.....after a long day in Parks no having to navigate transport to hotel.....the wonderful EMH........the disney character meet & greet in hotel.....the wonderful disney atmosphere in the onsite hotels.....the mickey or goofey wakeup call

Hope it all works out for you!

We will be booking onsite. We've only ever stayed onsite at WDW and DL, so we are quite comfortable with it and love the perks. On this trip, though, our airfare cost was making us waver a bit between on and offsite.

But, we decided to splurge as it will likely be the only time we visit Paris, much less Paris Disney!

Thanks for the opinions!
