Taking a Birthday Card to Guest Services

DS is celebrating his 6th birthday the last day of our Dream cruise. Can we take a birthday card to guest services the first day and ask them to have characters sign it? When will we get it back? If we don't get it back until the last evening, that is ok since his birthday is the last day of the cruise, but it would be nice to get it earlier.

You will get it back the night before the last day.

When you say the last day, do you mean the debarkation day or the last FULL day? Usually whatever I sent to GS for signatures arrives while I'm packing the last night. If you want it for the last dinner, with cake, I would request it be delivered earlier in the day.

That's a great idea.

I tried to do that for DD's birthday and was told by GS that they could not have the characters sign a card due to copyright issues. I had even bought a card with Disney characters on it.

We were just on the Wonder last month and ordered the birthday package. Guest services told us we could leave the birthday card they gave us with the package to have it signed, so we did. So maybe because they gave it to us and it had the cruise logo on it that made it okay?

We also got the birthday package for DD on our last cruise. She had a lot of fun collecting signatures on her card. Just getting GS to do it all for you sounds boring to me.

If they won't do a traditional card, why not get a canvas and paint "Happy Birthday" on it, and maybe even add the information about the ship and date of cruise, and then have them sign. Your son could then hang it on his wall at home.

We did a card for my Aunt's 60th birthday and had no trouble last year on the Fantasy. They even delivered it a couple days early so she got it on her actual birthday (they couldn't guarantee it of course, but as usual, they came through). We dropped it off at GS the first day in a baggie with a few colored sharpies and they put a note on the slip explaining that we would like it by the 21st (we departed on the 17th). She loved it. It was just a regular card (a little bigger than most) that we picked up at Wal Mart before we boarded the cruise.
