Will Echo Lake get an update? - The DIS Discussion Forums

Hello, everyone,

I have noticed that something is being continually looked over during this rumor of the possible overhaul and expansion to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

If this article and the project is truly coming to Walt Disney World, then wouldn't an obvious idea be to move Star Tours to the new Star Wars Land? Which then leaves Echo Lake without any attractions other than American Idol and the 23 year old Indiana Jones Show.

Also, I would like to know if the Star Wars/Cars Land expansion will only include the Backlot or if the Streets of America would be included in the new area. If anyone knows and would like to share with us, then thank you for the information.

There's no room at DCA for another land without another major facelift. Also, it took 45 years for a second gate to open at Disneyland (plus more than 10 years of struggling for the new park), so I wouldn't plan on ever seeing a 3rd gate in SoCal.

Anybody who thinks TWO new lands would go into DHS either simultaneously or otherwise is probably crazy. Disney isn't going to pour that kind of money into that park. And I wouldn't plan on seeing a 5th gate at WDW until they seriously need to worry about Universal. In other words, not in any of our lifetimes.
