I read on a linked thread from here that it is only for WDW resort guests. Can you not attend if staying off site?

I didn't read all the comments, but I just want to mention that the campfire at Fort Wilderness is the best one by far. It's worth taking the time to get there. The other resorts aren't nearly the same.

You could physically attend, they don't check for resort key cards. It is meant as an amenity for WDW resort guests. Kind of like the people that come use the fort's pool but are staying off sight...
