They have them at the campground. They build a fire, you can buy or bring your own hot dogs and s'mores to cook and there is a sing along with Chip and Dale followed with a drive in style movie with bench seats. I don't know what other resorts do it.

We attended the campfire at the YC/BC last October. It was two cast members tending a fire on the beach (by the entrance to the water slide). They provided free marshmallows and long sticks for roasting. There was no place to buy anything else and no other entertainment. Around 8:00 they announced last marshmallows and broke down the table holding the sticks, etc. I was surprised at how 'rustic' it was, no fire pit, no safety fence, just a fire on the beach. Charmingly old school.

We did the Chip and Dale sing a long campfire at Fort Wildnerness campgrounds. It was fun. Its free, but you can purchase smores kits from the concessions (I believe it was around $7 for a kit that had enough supplies for the four of us). Or you can bring your own smores supplies. There's a guy playing guitar and singing. Chip and Dale come around to say hello to everyone at some point in the show and then dance with guests at the end. When we were there you got to take a picture with Chip or Dale, not both. While everyone was sitting in their seats listening to the music, each one visited half of the rows. Somehow they both skipped over our row, so at the end I told the CM who was with them and on their way out they stopped for us to take a pic with them together.

We had fun, but wouldn't go out of our way to do it again. Also, if you don't have a car its a hassle to get to and from your resort using disney transportation. We like disney transportation overall and never get a car, but it took three different busses to get here from a resort and it took forever so we took a 5 minute cab ride to POFQ afterwards.

Overall I'd say its a good activity for a non-park day.

We did stay at AKL one trip and I remember campfires in the evening, but we didn't go to them. There aren't any characters at those, but I believe they had a storyteller. Hopefully someone else can provide more info on those.

We stumbled upon a campfire at POFQ on our first night. We came around the bend on the back side of the property (by the river) an a cast member was there with stick and marshmallows. We roasted a few, had a sword fight with the sticks and then continued on to DTD. It was fun, and an unexpected treat.

There is the official camp fire with chip and dale at fort wilderness campgrounds. I've never been but hear it is cute. Then other resorts have cam fires like described above. My one tip is to confirm time with the resort schedule as we asked at POR three different people when it was and were told three different times...by the way none of which were right

The Wilderness Lodge has a campfire, too. They roast marshmallows at it.

Oh I love the idea of the chip and dale fire at fort wilderness! Even better it's free and has characters, a nice way to meet chip and dale without the lines or a character meal.

Could anyone tell me how I find out when these campfires happen with chip and dale? are they every night? We will be there sept 26-oct 6th but only have a few nights open to do something like this.

Also I've never been to fort wilderness.. how would we get there by disney transportation?

Take your bug spray! The only time I ever got mosquito bites at WDW was at the Ft Wilderness campfire!

There is a boat launch from Magic Kingdom. And there would be buses to Fort Wilderness at each of the parks.

ETA: There is some great information in this thread, including a map by Robo.

The Campfire at the Wilderness lodge is definitely something I wish I'd known about earlier: it's so much fun!

Chip and Dale will come out for about 20 minutes just to play with kids (no pictures or autographs, just playing. Last time I was there, Chip and Dale brought chalk to draw on the sidewalk with the kids.) There will be CMs at this point with a big campfire and you can get s'mores kits as was already mentioned.

After that, there's a sing along with a cowboy, and Chip and Dale come back out for a little show. Then (as the PP said) the chipmunks split up and each take a side of the audience to do autographs and pictures. After that, everyone heads up front for the Hokey Pokey!

You can get the movie/campfire schedule of all of the resorts on the Build A Better Mouse website. Just google it. Sorry, I couldn't post the link.

When we were at POR in late-Jan it was at the playground at the main pool at about 7:00pm. Cast member handing out sticks and marshmallows to all of the kids. Pretty sure it's every night.

If you are able to go to the campground chip n dale campfire /movie from Magic Kingdom there is fewer transfers. There is a boat that goes to the campground and Wilderness lodge from MK, also to/from the Contemporary hotel.
