The Harlem Shake

It seems this is the new Gangnam Style song for teens. The videos on Youtube are really fun! It is a short lil dance and kinda catchy.

Has this caught on by anyone else yet or it is a regional thing?

There are many Youtube clips, but this is a completely G rated one.

My husband's friends did a silly video over the weekend... it's definitely catching on here as the "meme of the moment."

I saw a lot of them on Youtube. They kind of annoyed me to be honest!

They're here! Our baseball team did one last week--so funny. Our local news station did one--they are everywhere.

The Harlem Shake is not a new dance. I don't get it.

I like the randomness about it. People wearing all sorts of costumes, holding crazy objects, etc. They just pop out of nowhere. It is catchy. Good clean fun for the most part!

It's not that Harlem Shake.

I think the meme stuff is dumb, but that's my opinion. I don't really care what other people like.

Smelling like a horse doesn't make you a cavalryman
I'd wear a pair. I might even be able to get Mrs. Tex to wear some
I need to provide sufficient background in every post to make sense

There's really nothing to "get". It's just people making funny videos based on the same song/dance. Some of them are actually pretty creative.
My dd showed me a cute one with seniors at a nursing home.
It's like gagnam style, or whatever the next trend will be for young people.

Yep, although this one seems to have a more specific "Recipe"

One person dancing among a group of people ignoring him/her. Often they're wearing a mask or a helmet of some kind...then once it gets to the big part, everyone is instantly dancing wearing crazy outfits or doing strange things/dances.

I will say some of the videos aren't the most family friendly (mostly just talking about certain body movements), but overall its good, random fun
