New Tickets and Annual Passes
My family purchased twelve 10-day hoppers from Undercover Tourist in November 2012. We decided to go to Disney in May and now we have planned another trip for October.
Can I walk up to the window in front of the park we go to on the first day and upgrade these tickets to an annual pass or will they say no since we didn't buy them directly from Disney? |

You can update them easily. Use them to get into a park first and then go to guest relations to upgrade them.

Are you saying you want to upgrade the tickets you bought and used in November 2012 to annual passes in May 2013?
If you haven't used the tickets at all, you can upgrade before or after you go in. I've done both. If you used your tickets already, I think you only have 14 days from the first day of use to upgrade. So you are beyond that date if you used it in November. -Virginia |

Actually I reread your post. You haven't used them yet. Since you bought the tickets from Undercover Tourist it is better to use them the first day then upgrade. The difference is if you upgrade before using them, you will only get the discounted price applied to annual pass, if you use it first, they kinda comp you the discount and give you the full value of those tickets to your annual pass. Make sense?

I can see how my question was confusing. We purchased them from Undercover in November, but we have never used them. We will use them for the first time in May. I want to convert them to an annual pass then if i can instead of buying even more 10-day hoppers. |

You will want to use them to enter a park first, to bring them up to current gate price.
If you upgrade before you enter the park, you will only get credited for what Undercover Tourist paid Disney for the tickets, which is less than what you paid UT for the tickets. Enter the park, go to guest relations, and then upgrade to AP. The cost to upgrade to an adult AP should be $211.93 and the cost to upgrade a child ticket to AP should be $231.11. The difference is because there is no "child AP" cost.

There are rumors floating around about a ticket price increase. If that happens before your May trip, your cost to upgrade will, of course, be slightly higher than current price charts.
I'll jump on the bandwagon with PPs. To keep your UT discount, use the tickets first thru a park turnstile before doing your upgrade. You will still get full credit for the 10 days on your tickets. However, using the tickets first brings your tickets up to Disney Gate Price value. Not using them first, you will only get credit for what UT paid Disney for the tickets (wholesale). This is b/c Disney has no way to tell what price UT sold the tickets to you. It could mean a lot of money, considering you have twelve 10-day tickets to upgrade. If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #7, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. The ticket sticky is your friend!
