Crowds March 16th to 23rd?
We are 27 days out!
As of today when I search for available rooms, most all hotels and room levels have availability. I also see Disney has a 30% off special going on. Does that mean with under 30 days they will not be nearly to capacity or does that mean that because they are offering a special that they place will be bursting at the seams? I have read all the crowd level sites and some say 6/10 crowd level and others say 10/10. Just hoping for moderate crowd levels. Thanks for any input. |

This is our traditional time to go, and touringplans.com always has the parks rated 9 or 10 during this time. And as of two months ago, the same was true for March 2013.
However.... sometime during the past month, touringplans.com has dropped the park crowd ratings to 6 through 8 for mid-March, so.....the parks may not be quite so packed this year. The danger, though, is expecting crowds not to be so heavy and then to get an unpleasant surprise. So....we're still planning to be at PO (park opening) and make judicious use of Fast Passes.

Maybe on site hotels will be less busy if people decide to stay off site.
With that being said, I'm glad you ask for we'll be there almost the same dates as you!

I would think offsite Hotels would always be less busy unless the values fill up. There is still availability at the values.

We'll be there the 17-23. All the research I've done shows that it will be slower than the week before and definitely slower than the week after. Hoping that's true!

We are going the same week and I'm excited about the Spring Break poll, because our week does seem like it will be a little bit slower. We were there the same week last year and the crowds weren't that bad, they weren't good, but totally doable with early hours and plans. But I'm hoping since Easter is earlier this year, than last, that the week will be even slower than it was last year.
Last year the hours at MK were alot later. Including one night until 3am with EMH. So that might be another good sign maybe. And for what it is worth, last year at AK around 2:30 it was an hour wait for Kali. Then later that week at MK around noon it was an hour wait for SM and 65 minutes for Peter Pan. So like I said not bad, doable for sure. |

Also excited about this! We have the first spring break in our entire state (IN)... except for the college crowd. All of our friends have their kids school break around Easter.

The hours for Magic Kingdom has been extented. Same for some nights at Animal Kingdom...
Let's see if this mean they're expecting more people!

I am also visiting the 17-22. We are spending the 19th at Islands of Adventure, and if you use their pricing for Express Pass as an indicator (higher anticpated crowds usually = higher cost for express pass), our week is cheaper than the previous week and WAY cheaper than the next week (Easter adjacent). I am cautiously hopeful!

That is- until now- when the current discounts stink.
