Told to me by a cashier at AKL gift shop...
Not sure if this rumor has hit the boards.
When I was digging for my kttw card last week,the cm told me soon you will wear a wristband, and Ito,d him ihad heard this but don't like the idea of having a big sweaty wristband on all day. He then said there will still be the card option, but here is the part I hadn't heard, Disney will be selling themed wristbands in the gift shops, so for $10-15 you can get a wristband of your choice. So yet another Disney merchandising money grab comes out of it when Sally insists she needs a princess wristband!

Yep, the NYTimes article that came out a couple of weeks back mentioned that wristbands and "accessories" were coming. A friend of a friend who works WDW retail was told she would lose on the order of 6 feet of wall space for the new merchandise when it launches.
