Nachi Cocum in Cozumel

Has anyone been to Nachi Cocum in Cozumel? It sounds wonderful but I'm not sure how kid friendly it is. Is the water deep immediately on the beach or could my son play on the shore pretty safely?

We went to Nachi on a Carnival cruise last summer and loved it! There was maybe 20 people there total and it was definitely kid friendly. The water was calm and shallow enough on the shore for play. The food was plentiful and beach massage was amazing. I think it's a perfect place for families.

Our kiddos were 12, 4, 2 and we had a great day! The water is shallow and perfect for playing unless you want to swim out to the deeper area.

We had a wonderful time in Nachi in October. Our DS's 6 & 8 had a great time. Although we enjoyed Nachi, I will say that Maya Chan in Costa Maya catered much more to our family than Nachi. We had a much larger private area at Maya Chan, the cost of Maya Chan included: food, drinks, taxi fare, rafts, floats, kayaking (which we took our 6 & 8 year on with us, WITH LIFE JACKETS), snorkeling, a bucket of sand toys for each child, a sand castle building contest (this our children loved). All of this was less expensive than Nachi. I'm not saying that we didn't enjoy Nachi, but just that Maya Chan in Costa Maya was our favorite stop. I'm putting together a Trip Report website & I will try to return to this page & share it when I am closer to being done.

Can't wait until April. We are going to Nachi and are really excited to go. Everything I heard was positive.

Sounds like a great place to spend the day ! Somewhat concerned about getting back to the ship on time. How available we're taxis and how far is it from the ship ? Which pier did you dock at ? I read where there was more than one.

I am very interested in this. We've done Nachi Cocum and liked it but looking for something different. I will have a 4 yr old and 1.5 year old. My only issue is that my baby usually takes a nap mid day. How big was the private area you had?

the ppl at nachi call you a cab and they are there within 10 min so no worries about that. we went in december, there were about 20 ppl there that day. the water does have a drop off about 6 feet from the water line, there is still a beach shallow area where i could sit and wade and play in the sand.

Is it easy to catch a cab to nachi? I'm worried about getting there.

There is also the pool. My son didn't like the salt water, and preferred just swimming around in the pool all day We loved Nachi. They only no more than 100 people max per day, and our DIS group pretty much booked it out. It was great, as we all new each other. Our Group organized a Pirate Treasure Hunt with real buried treasure for the kids to unearth. My family quite enjoyed the food, and the DH loved the all inclusive Alcohol Fair price for such a great day. We had no problems getting back to the ship on time. Do keep in mind it was I think a 20 to 30 minute drive from the port

Once off the ship, you just follow the crowd out to the main street (through a mall area of sorts). You will eventually come to a large sign specifying how much a taxi is to various parts of Cozumel and that taxis are right there Very easy.

We were just at Nachi Cocom last week! You can see photos in my blog post:

http://savingforadream.blogspot.com/...-3-part-1.html

I was comfortable with my 5-year-old son in the water. It wasn't too deep for a while. I didn't let him go out too far, though.

We've been multiple times with our kids and love it. As a matter of fact, our 11 year old asked if we could skip all excursions on our upcoming cruise and just stay on the ship and when I said, "you don't even want to go to the place with the great beach and the pool right next to it?" He said, "of course I want to go there, I'll always want to go there!"
