Any gift cards you apply to your account are treated the same as an OBC. You charge everything with your KTTW card, so any amount you are planning to spend on board: tips, shopping, drinks, bingo, excursions booked through DLC, snacks for movies and shows, light up glasses on pirate's night, spa, hair braiding...everything.

Have any of you had your bank charge you a fee for having a Red Card?

Two weeks ago while in Target I applied for a Red Card. I had been reading about it here on DIS and thought it would be good to buy Disney gift cards. Well, today I received a letter from my bank stating that since I had the Target debit card linked to my checking account that they would have to charge me $14 a month. I bank with a credit union and I have free checking..free everything. I guess maybe that is why?

It really isn't a good deal if I have to pay a $14 a month fee. So I called Target to cancel my account. I had a HARD time getting them to even cancel it. They just did not want to. Finally, right before I was about to ask for a supervisor she said ok I will cancel it.

I hate I had to cancel it but it isn't a good deal with the bank fees

Maybe you should see about getting the Target Red Credit Card (that's what I have). You get the same 5% off on the Disney cards.

I don't need them all in one shopping, but could I potentially buy $2000 in Disney gift cards in one shot?

Thanks!
Does anyone know if tax is charged when purchasing the Disney gift card?

No tax. You would pay tax on any item that is taxable that you buy with the cards.

No tax is charged on the cards. I just bought $1000 yesterday for an up coming trip. Also used them to pay off the cruise a couple hundred every pay check. Come in denominations of $50 and $25 at my local target. Hope that helps

For our upcoming cruise here is what I did. There is an app for iPad called Disney gift cards, once you pick up the gift cards enter in into the app and it will track your balance on card. After buying all the gift cards and paying off the cruise it will show the balance if at the end of the cruise you get any credit back it will show in the app, you have to refresh the amount by just hitting the refresh button. If you have only a couple gift cards it might not matter, but I have 127, I numbered each gift card with a sharpie and then when you enter it in the app call it the corresponding number and its an easy way to keep track.

Was the fee from Target or your actual bank?

On a $3000 cruise:

Target saving $150

Disney Premier Visa
OBC $50
Rewards $60
6 Mo interest free = $110

IMO for $40 difference its not worth my time, fuel or effort .
JMO way too much work for 5% ...

I doubt I would do it for that, too. However, I get 5% for pharmacy rewards in addition, and save $292.50 off a $3000 cruise. That is worth it to me.

You can combine the gift cards too.
