Yes, read that thread, but in summary with 5 people in one room you're going to need to rent a private apartment to fit all in one room. Most of the private apartments require a 3 night minimum charge, which if you only need a night or two, renting two connecting rooms might be the same or cheaper. Most hotels only sleep 2-3 per room. There are a few where you can get 4 in, but I've never seen any that will sleep 5, except for the private apartments.

Barcelona Hotel

In 2010 my family stayed at the Hispanos 7 Suiza ( which is a hotel that has an apartment feel to them. There are multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, living room and a kitchen that has washer/dryer in it. The staff is very helpful in any way we needed. The hotel is located one block over from the Sagrada Familia so it is very close to transportation and the hop on hop off buses. You can also stay as few as one night if needed.

Ditto the above post. It's a great place to stay, right near Sagrada Familia. You can get two and three bedroom apartments.

We booked Novotel Barcelona City for 1 night pre-cruise, 1 room for our family of 4. Just needed a basic room since we're arriving in Barcelona the night before. However, after the cruise we wanted to be in the city so we booked an apartment- Gaudi's Nest, received great reviews on TripAdvisor. Very reasonably priced with an amazing view of the Sagrada Familia. Each apartment has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. They also provide airport shuttle service and brunch or dinner at an additional cost.

We booked Aura Park ApartHotel as they were able to accomodate five of us in a hotel at a reasonable price. Was recommended by several others on the July 13th cruise.
