It's been many years since my one and only cruise...

...and admittedly, it's hard to keep up on everything. Thankfully, the categories now make it easier to make sure you get a room where you want (compared to how it origainlly was), but how are the room assigners with requests when they are for passengers that have mobility issues? IF we bring our youngest son with us, he can't walk much so we still use the stroller a great deal. We don't need an accessible room, but given stairs aren't an option for us, can we request something near an elevator for this purpose? I loathe needing the elevators given I know how l-o-n-g we always had to wait, but it is what it is. I would prefer to take the stairs, just not an option.

I'm assuming its like all "requests" in that they aren't guaranteed. Yes? Is there anything I can do to make my needs known? Obviously, unscrupulous people can lie and do the same kinds of requests. Disney has no way of knowing, I'm just wondering what people know and have experuenced. Our one and only cruise with him was a terrible nightmare. We were lucky the though and had a 1BR concierge suite so my time was mostly spent in a lovely room with my DS who wouldn't go anywhere. And I spent about 90% of our cruise, in that room. We didn't know his needs then so I wouldn't have known to ask, which is why I have no idea how things work w/ DCL on this matter. I'm pretty well versed in anything teh parks can do though.

Any help/input is appreciated!

Check out deck plans and prices, chose a category and room # available, perhaps next to a bank of elevators, and reserve it, Then place a note on reservation if desired that says "Do not upgrade or move please".

You can reserve any available room # you wish.

Exactly what Bear3412 posted should get you a cabin that meets your needs.

COOLIO!!!!! you're such a great mom! LUCKY LUCKY kids! I know we're about the same age but you can adopt me if you want. I won't complain.

OK,another annoying question. (yeah, I hate them too) I just did 5 searches for the answer. I know how the Magic and Wonder docked at CC, but the Dream, what side faces the island? Port or SB?

Thanks for the tips too. I've got my banks of room numbers written down so I'm set, with several contingency plans. I just wish we knew what the future held for Daniel. It's one day at time here.
