Strict with ages in kids clubs?

If you have 2 kids, one being a year too young for the age category that their sibling fits into, will they allow them to be together regardless of age?

It depends on the numbers for each cruise in the clubs. You don't give the ages you are referring to. Kids need to be completely PTd to be in the club area. DCL has already merged the age groups to allow this to happen for 3-12 yos. The lab is up to 12 and the Edge starts at 11, so 12 yos can actually go to either/both areas. I would imagine that teens would be fine in their own area. The one thing DCL is strict about is if a child is above the limit they are not allowed in the area.

The clubs all have at least a one-year overlap age. If your kids are just a year apart, they should both fit the age level for one club. As PP mentions, DCL is VERY strict about not allowing older kids move down, but may allow younger kids to move up if space permits.

Enjoy your cruise!

It's been a few years since we've encountered this but when it was a concern for us we were told our older DD could "move down" to be with her younger sister but not the other way around.

In 2011 there was a strict change with regards to the age policy and they no longer allow this. They don't even allow 18 yos to participate in the Vibe anymore.

It would help if we knew the ages of your children. My kids have gotten into the Edge at age 10. I had to sign a waiver. I don't know if 13 year olds are allowed in the vibe or not.

My 10 year old was allowed into the edge with the waiver, but friends who cruised before us were told no. I think it depends on the makeup of your particular cruise.

I don't know if this is common, but our table mates had a 13yo who was allowed in Vibe. My 13yo was perfectly happy in Edge, so we did not inquire about him going to Vibe. My 9yo would have loved to be in Edge with his two siblings, but he was not allowed. I think he would have been allowed if he had been 10. The 9yo was not impressed with the club for his age, but I was completely understanding of the age rules. He will be 10.5 on our next cruise and I hope our experience will be like yours and he will be allowed in Edge.

It is sometimes allowed for kids to move up if they are within a year, but not guaranteed at all. It varies from cruise to cruise depending on the numbers.

our daughter turns 3 on the 4th day of the cruise. I am hoping they will allow her to go in with her brother even though technically on the cruise documents she is 2. (they base those documents off the age of the first sailing date)

Does anyone know if they will let her in with him, he is 5. She is really to old for the nursery.

thanks

Both your children are of the appropriate age for the Oceaneer Club and Lab (3-12 yrs old). Neither is the right age for any other kids space, unless you were hoping to age-up the 10-yr-old to Edge (officially 11-14 yrs old). There should be no problem with your children participating at the Club or Lab together.

Enjoy your cruise!

Chances are, as long as your daughter is fully potty trained, she will be allowed to use Oceaneer's Club/Lab. Fully potty-trained in Disney-speak means able to identify that she needs to use the toilet, can undress, use toilet, clean herself, redress, and wash hand without any assistance.

Just ask them onboard once you get there.

With a birthday that close, she will be allowed at the Club. Keep in mind that she should be potty-trained, or you will need to return periodically to assist as CMs are not allowed to assist with any aspect of toileting.

Enjoy your cruise!

they actually do allow them to move around sometimes if they are within a year, but the one thing they are very strict about is nobody 18 or older in the teen club.

Yes, as long as she is potty trained.
